It's been like 4 months since I've posted but I came on to update on how I've been doing. I'm still not certain that I really have IC but none the less I've been feeling better. I've been on Elmiron for just about 5 months now and I have noticed a difference in urgency especially during the day. Night time sometimes gets bad but really it's maybe once a week where I have to get up more than once a night to go pee. My Urologist gave me Amitriptylene to help me relax at night and that has really helped. The thing is, I don't think I've had a real serious flare up since I changed my diet, although I've had minor ones here and there. Probably 90% of the fluid I drink is water, and mostly bottled water(Arrowhead). So I'm wondering just how much the Elmiron is doing for me? I may later on try and not take it but stick close to my diet and see what happens.

Anyway I'm glad I found this forum because at the time I was pretty discouraged. I'm happy that it has at least gotten easier to live with now. I'll try to be better at the updates.

YIPPEEE! GOOD FOR YOU :woohoo:

I also follow a strict diet and take Elmiron. I don't know which works better, but I decided not to question it. I thank God everyday for my health and the fact that I only have to pay a small co-pay for my Elmiron. I know it is very expensive to those without insurance. I wish you continued success with whatever is working.
