I went to the urologist yesterday. He gave me four medications without even telling me what was wrong. I asked, and he said I had urethral syndrome. I am taking Vesicare, Naproxen, Hiprex, and Urelle. Nothing is helping the severe throbbing of my urethra. The urge to urinate is a little better, but the throbbing is worse. I have been crying all day. If anyone has urethral syndrome, I would love to hear what helped you.

Did he tell you how he came to the conclusion that you have urethral syndrome? Did you look inside your bladder?

No, he did not look inside my bladder. He looked at my urethra and did a rectal and touched my pelvis-that's all. Honestly, I don't think he knew what he was doing or was even concentrating on me. His partner told me I had an irriatable bladder a few weeks ago without even examining me. None of the meds are working. Two cultures were positive for different infections. One was negative, and one I haven't gotten the results back. The first Dr. said they were all contaminated and were of no use anyway??????
I called Dr. Robert Moldwin's office today crying to try to get a sooner appt. than Oct. 27th. He is the dr. that wrote the book called "Managing Interstitial Cystitis". The nurse said it sounded like I had interstitial cystitis or Pelvic floor dysfunctioin and got me in next Fri., Oct 10th. So I am just going to forget this dr.'s diagnosis and wait to see what Dr. Moldwin says. Meanwhile, the urethral throbbing is causing me to be crying all day. So any ideas on pain relief would be so greatly apprecialted. Thanks Krisssy
