A few weeks ago started my twice weekly therapy sessions, let me tell you, its no picnic either! Doing all sorts of exercises at home (or at least trying to)
This morning during one exercise, the therapist told me to turn my head the other way (I was flat on my stomach) when I asked why he said he didn't want to see me cry--so between yes actually crying --or trying not to and biting my finger -oh the pain--no wonder I put this surgery off for a long time--its not the post surgical pain its the therapy. Then I had a doctor appt with the surgeon and boy, did he put me in pain... the only good thing about this morning was that my husband took me out to breakfast.

I'be been there and I know how painful that therapy can be. But the good news is that for me it worked! I still have occasional problems with my shoulder, but nothing like what it was.

Both my mother and sister went through this and said the same thing you did. PT was very, painful . My sister cried- her PT told her to take a pain pill before she went to PT would your PT consider that. Hang in there shoulder surgery and PT takes about a year to get it going good. Vicky

My doctor prescribed two pain tablets one hour before each therapy session.

Yes, the therapist did told me to take a pain pill about 1 hour before I do either exercises at home or at there. Most times it helps but not the last few days. (recovery was easy, but not this... now I know why I put it off for so long.)

Hang in there! There is light at the end of the tunnel! I do very well with my shoulder now and it was extremely painful before the surgery and therapy.
Sending encouraging hugs,

so did both my sisters and mothers md. Ask for it - it will help you. Being a recovery room Rn for 20 years I have recovered many, many rotator and open shoulder surgeries. Shoulders surgery is definately one of the most painful surgeries to have. We load them up and give them lots ofpain medication. Vicky
