2 weeks flaring-going crazy!

Hi Ladies,

Its been a while since I've popped my head in here but I've been flaring for 2 weeks now and I just can't seem to get it under control. I'm not sleeping. My pain meds aren't working and I'm snapping at EVERYONE! I'm afraid to go to work because I'm afraid I'll snap and bite some poor customers head off. My poor mom and co-workers have faced the brunt of my frustration. I feel terrible. I've tried to just grin and bear it and keep my mouth shut but I don't know what to do. I have a hydro scheduled for Oct 6 but I don't think it will come soon enough. I'd go to the hospital and beg for an epidural and a catheter but the last time I did that the dr just looked at me like I was crazy. Thanks for listening.

Christine...I am so sorry that you are having such a hard time right now. I hope you are able to get relief with the hydro. IC symptoms can turn us into someone we, nor our loved ones, don't know. It is difficult.

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for your support. I'm up after 5 hours of sleep in which I woke up every hour. I have to go to a bridal shower today and I a seriously considering getting one of my girlfriends who is attending to stop by and pick up the gift and just stay home. Notto, I am currently taking Elmiron, Detrol La, Topomax, and when the pain is bad Toradol, Gravol, Belladonna and Opium Suppositories and pyridium. I had been given Cesamet (prescription pot) about 8 weeks ago by my pain Doc and it had made a huge impact in both my pain and my nausea, but it started giving me migraines, oh and my kidneys shut down so we decided to stop it. Lately I've been having severe intermitent back pain, so she is sending me for a CT, she says she won't give me anything new for my pain until she sees the CT :hangs head: I just want 3 more hours sleep so I can drive but I'm not sure If I can achieve that!

Is it possible you have a UTI? I have been having frequency and and retention for a couple of days and can't relate it to foods I have been eating. I went to the drugstore and bought an AZO UTI test kit and tested positive for nitrites. I just got back from the ER and I do have a UTI. They gave me Cipro and Pyridium for it.

Thanks for all your kind wishes. I slept a bit better last night. I don't think it is a UTI. I see my Dr tomorrow so I'll get her to check it out just to be on the safe side. It's mostly the bloating,pressure, urgency, and sharp pains. I rarely get the burning. Only if I actually get a UTI. I didn't go to the bridal shower and stayed home and napped instead. I actually feel like I can face work today though. Wish me luck!

Try a heating pad. That really helps me. I have on at work and one at home. I sleep with it almost every night. Get one that turns off automatically.

I wound up in ER last week with Kidney Infection. This mess ruined big time my 60th birthday.......now they want to implant a stimulator.

I'm not going that route.

I'm like you.......so bloated.....burning, I feel like something's falling out, and got to sleep only on Valium last night.

DO NOT EVER DRINK CINNAMON TEA..........I was drinking it before for energy.,,,,,,,,,it has taken me to the FLOOR.

I only relasped in the last 2 months after an Inguinal nerve block. Had hydro......to no avail.......they do not know what to do with me already.

FEEEEEL BETTER !!!!!!!!

It's amazing. I started the Cipro for the UTI on Sunday afternoon and got up to pee 6 times that night. Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday nights I only got up once to pee!! My usual before the UTI was 3 to 4 times up to pee. I'm lovin this!
