I am having surgery to pull up my bladder and my rectum as I have both a cystocele and a rectocele. I am not looking forward to the pain, but I just want to get it over with. I am hoping this works. The doctor said that there is always a chance that I will leak more after the surgery, so then she would have to go in and put something in there to hold everything up. We'll see what happens.
Wish me luck!

I didnt find post-op to be painful, just a bit uncomfortable. I had some numbness that lasted for a few weeks post-op so perhaps that played in my favor.
Wishing you an uneventful surgery and recovery.

God's speed to you for a quick, quick and easy recovery.
Can I ask you something ?
Do you feel like your bladder is about to fall out.........
I have never had this sensation with IC......this is new to me.
It just feels LOW........and like I want to keep my legs together.
Doc did not mention anything about this to me after distention, but will see him again tomorrow to ask.

I am in a lot of pain. I am just miserable. You should have seen me early this morning about 4 AM. I had taken a laxative because I had not gone big potty in three days. I was up every 15 minutes thinking I had to go. It was REALLY hard having to remember to take my nose canula off for mu 02 and bring my YELLOW purse along with me.What a sight!

It's sinful the way hospitals send us home so quickly these days. It sounds like you should have stayed at LEAST a couple of days. My heavens, that is ridiculous!
Sweetie, I am so sorry you are in pain and dealing with so much. I really wish I could help you, but I can tell you I understand surgical pain VERY well now and hope that you manage to get a hold of your pain.
Why are you on 02?
Big hugs coming your way. I hope things get better for you real soon. I didn't see this post prior to your surgery, so I'm sorry I didn't post then.
Sending big hugs and prayers your way.
Let us know how you're doing when you are up to it!

They took out my foley today, Sunday. God love this doctor doing this on a Sunday! The doctor had another patient take home her foley as well. So, they removed both foleys one right after the other. The doctor made me pee and I peed a little, but not as much as I wanted. She told me that she thought I would be alright. I am not sure about that as I have only peed a couple of drops with tons of pain. I am going to wait a bit and push the fluids and if I can't pee then I am going to the hospital.
So, the doc removed the foley at 11 AM this morning and it is almost 5 with hardly any urine expelled. How long should I wait before I call the doctor or go to the ER to see if I need another foley put in?

I was not online yesterday. How are you doing this morning? Have you been able to urinate more? If not, I think it is time for you to get in to see a doctor. (((Hugs)))

HI ALL! I went by ambulance to the ER in excruciating pain not being able to pee. They put in another foley and put me on Levaquin in case of an infection from all of this. I go tomorrow to have the doctor remove the foley Again! Hopefully I will be able to pee more this time. I am still having spasms though and the outside and inside of my uretha are very sore because of the foley being there so long. It will a week tomorrow(Wed.) that I had this surgery. I thought I would be feeling a little bit better by now. I wonder how long a person can go with a foley in or do they take the foley out and I have to self cath? This is all making me very nervous.
I am going to go to bed now. I need my pain meds. Say a prayer for me.

After I had surgery for stress incontinence (not the sling surgery) I had a foley for almost a week, then had to cath myself for another week. After that I was fine. My uro said I had some swelling from the procedure and once the swelling went away, I could urinate again.
Warm hugs,
Donna

Ok! The doctor removed the foley and instilled 120ccs of fluid into me. I was able, this time, to pee 100ccs of it . I was so happy!!!:woohoo: I have peed off and on all day, with some spasms, and it has not been as much as I want, but it is better than it was! I figure that it will take a few days to get my bladder back in the swing of things. It has only been a week since the surgery!
Better days ahead. It has been one hell of a week!

I'm glad to hear that you've got that issue, at least, under control! I was worrying about you!!! I know all about those spasms and they are NOT fun at all.
Like everyone has told me....one day at a time sweetie!!!
Hang in there.....
Hugs, Sandy

I had a very bad night last night. I was up every 15 minutes trying to pee and was having horrible spasms. I took my pain pills, some Piridium, and even some antivan to no avail. I don't know what to do! The spasms have been almost non stop. I am miserable. Please pray for me. I am going to call my doc.
