constant ear infections!!!

this year has been the worst for ear infections, i had at least five, i have lost count. winter in melbourne australia has been very bad this year. does anyone have constant ear infections? have you got any tips for me?

Do you still have your tonsils? If so, you might want to talk with your doctor about the tonsils being the cause of your infections.

I would see and ENT about this, you may need to get tubes in your ears. My sister, just had to have this done.

thanks for all your responses. Yes donna i still have my tonsils. i havent had an ear infection for ages then all of sudden this year i started getting them, i have lost count. i am going to the doctor again tomorrow to get a blood test and to get a scan done of my sinuses. also my gp will send me to a specialist. i hate taking constant antibiotics, i might get him to prescribe me ear drops next time. thanks again.

Try a sinus rinse, only I don't think you can use them when your ears are actually infected. They do help a lot though to keep your sinuses cleared out. You can use them every day, twice a day.

Also, a nasal spray may help. Nasonex used to help me...I have a lot of infections too.
