I keep reading that prelief can be very effective in preventing flares with problem foods. I have just recently been starting IC treatment as well as the diet and am having trouble eating without having flares, so, I bought some this afternoon. The prelief worked and I have been able to go the entire day without symtoms (yay!). However, I was wondering will continueing to eat 'problem foods' and taking prelief as a preventative further damage my bladder? I know that it is suppose to take acid out of food, but I don't want to just mask my symptoms while doing further damage to my bladder.

hi there, yay.....glad you've found some relief using prelief. As far as I am aware (I am no doctor) prelief takes the acid out of the food & doesn't tamper with the natural acids etc within our bodies. Prelief is ONLY an antacid. So I would say if you get away with eating acidic foods using prelief then that's great, just watch out for troublesome additives, preservatives etc that wont be helped by using prelief. Not everyone is food sensitive & it might just be that your just acid sensitive. Just be careful & take your time trying new foods would be my advice.
Big healing hugs

calcium.....you can save money by buying straight calcium. Don't ever buy an anacid.........it's just calcium.
