What is this?

I've had this for a looong time...prolly not an IC symptom.

But perhaps someone knows what this is...

I could be sitting for a short or long period of time, and when I go to get up, I get a SHARP shooting pain in my butt cheek...(embarassing) but it hurts...and the pain shoots up...

It might be coming from your sciatic nerve. :hmm: Or it might be a cramp. Anywhere there are muscles, you can get a cramp.

I was going to say sciatic nerve, like Sharon, but my pain starts in the middle of the left cheek and goes down the back of my leg...that's where that nerve runs, I believe. I injured mine running while training for a half marathon. I don't have the pain all the time, sometimes it just comes out of nowhere, or if it is touched. My massage therapist know to stay far away from that area else I will jump off the massage table, it is that sensitive. Well, hope your pain goes away and isn't here to stay, like mine.:)
