Installation and Elmiron

Has anyone ever heard of Installations using Elmiron? I am so desperate to get out of pain. My daughter's wedding is in two months and I can not do all the work in this pain. My doctor is going to start installations on Friday using Elmiron. He never did it before but his partner did and said he has been having good results.

I have been taking those treatments for the last 3 weeks. So far I can not see any difference. The worse part is getting caterized. At first I thought that was worse than the actual pelvic pain. My ur wanted me to go 3 times a week but it so hard for me to get off work unless it is a late appointment. Last week I had a treatment on Tues morning and had to call back on Thur for the nurse to please work me in I was in so much pain. Then that treatment lasted until Saturday, before I was in pain again. So far I can't say the treatments have helped that much and I don't know how long before you tell the dr "ok this is not working, what is plan B" but I do not see the ur again until April 8th.
Ginny have you had the cystiscope and hydrodestention(sp) but when my daughter was getting married in Feb I had my hydro in Dec and was fine for the wedding.

Thanks for your reply and I hope they find something to help you.
I would not do a hydro. Before I was diagnosed I had a cysto and hydro and hemorraged for about 10 days in the hospital. I would never take the chance of going through that again.

i'm sorry i havent tried the elimron treatments threw the bladder but i do the dmso heparin and marcaine at home which i have had good results with it.
I hope the elimron treatments helps you just as much or even more then my heparin treatments has helped me.

I have just completed 5 elmiron installations in the last 3 weeks and started oral elmiron 3 weeks ago at 200/mg 2x/day. My uro said the installations will "jump start" the elmiron which is supposed to coat the bladder while it heals itself. I had a great day today, yesterday I was terrible. At least I had 1 great day!
