My doctor agreed to tie my tubes but had to change the date because she didnt have enough time to do both procedures at once . I started out needing the surgery ( LEEP w AN ECC ) for moderate pre cancerous cells in my lower cervix . Because Im going to be put completely under for my original surgery I had asked if my tubes could be tied at the same time as well . I am not too nervous about the pre cancerous cells as long as they have not spread in to the upper parts of my cervix . It was explained to me that if they did then I would have to then get a hysto and see and onco doctor , the thought of that freaks me out , but Im not going to worry myself about it til I have all the ans after the surgery . I just wanted to update you guys on this and thank everyone who sent me hugs , prayers and warm wishes !!!! :kissing: I appreciate you all so much ! Im sorry I havent been on much lately ! My family went on vacation ( much needed after all the bad luck we have been having !!!) My mom gets a shore house in Ocean City , NJ for 2 weeks in August . We took the kids and had such a blast !!! I recommend anyone who lives in PA , NJ , DE , MD to try OC NJ out ! This place is so family orientated , has so many cool things to do with your kids ITS AWESOME :smile tee

Also I went back for my second pain management appt the other day . After being on Neurontin for a month I didnt notice much of a difference other then feeling like I was drunk for a few hours a night lol . They reduced my dosage and want me to continue to try it . I asked my doc for emergency pain meds and he tells me " IC is not helped by narcotics , Im very strict on this " Well I had begged and pleaded w him , but he would not budge . I figured that if I tried the new non narcotic meds he gave me and still didnt have much relief that he would give me something for break thru pain ... obviouscly I was wrong UNTIL I said to him " The person who referred me here is also an IC patient and they were given Methadone for pain control " then his tune changed . He told me he could give me methadone to try . Im supposed to take it 1/2 tab twice daily . Unfortunetly he did not give me the correct amount for the month , he only gave me 15 tabs of it as apposed to the 30 he told me he was prescribing , so I called the office today to ask what I should do , if I should reschedule my next apt for 2 weeks as apposed to 4 or should he give me a new script ? Im waiting to hear back from them . I started the methadone today , and so far so good , I was given a low dose and it did take away most of my pain , but I have not seen that it lasts longer yet ? but maybe I need to take it for a few days first before that happens ? It made me restless and very chatty lol Also has anyone who has taken it , has your heart raced on and off while you took it ? mine has done that since I took the second half of the pill ...
Ive been in a horrible flare for 2 weeks now , I had a bladder instill hoping that that would help but I think it has given me an infection instead as my symptoms got substantially worse a day or 2 after the instill . I literally have had to put ice on my girl parts down there and on my bladder on top of taking urelle 4 times a day and vicodin ( I have not taken the vicodin since I started the methadone ) . I have to call my doc tomorrow and get an appt to get it checked out .
Sorry for the long message , I havent been on here in awhile and to touch base w everything . I hope you all are doing well ((hugs))) and take care :hi:

Lauren, I have been wondering where you were.. I also have cervical dyplasia and had another paps done to see if it is at another stage. If so I will have the leep done. Also I am glad the methodone is helping. You really do need to call and tell him about the racing heart. With any meds this is not good. Glad you had a good vacation. We all need that every now and then.. Hope everything works out..

Hi Lauren!! I am glad you got through to him. Its funny that he doesn't want to treat IC with pain meds, but then when he does, he gives one of the strongest meds. I hope it continues to work for you. Hugs, Lisa

Doctors can be so st**** sometimes! How could he tell you pain meds do not help people with IC? I would have asked him if he had IC since he seems to think pain meds do not help! How would he know??
I unfortunately cannot take pain meds due to all the side effects, I am very senstitive. But I still may end up trying a different kind of day if things do not improve. I am in pain ALOT of the time.
I cannot believe that doctors are so in the dark about pain meds in this day and age. I mean I cannot believe how many doctors are afraid of people becoming addicts. If they read the literature, it states that a drug addict is a person who uses narcotics in the absence of pain. If you use pain meds for pain, you are highly unlikely to become an addict! Wake up doctors!!! :)
True, your body can become tolerant to the drug, and sometimes doses have to be upped, or meds changed, but this is not addiction. I still laugh when I hear that doctors tell their patients they do not give out pain meds due to concerns over addiciton. If the doctor knows his/her patient is sick and truely in pain, they should know that the likelyhood of addiction is unlikely. I was even told this by one of my doctors. It is sad the way some people are treated just because they need relief from severe pain.

Thanks Jen , I totally agree !! What cracked me up was that this doctor was a pain management doctor !! OF all doctors he should understand all of that ! I think hes a very nice guy , but Im not sure if Im going to stick w him ? But he was one of the only Pain m docs that accepted my ins :bonk: Ugh the carp we have yo go through to be treated correctly !!! I hope that you can find something that helps your pain that you can tolerate !! Take care :)
