Please be sure to let your doctor know about this. He is the one who can help. I have edited out most of your post because negative comments naming specific people are not allowed on the IC Network, but I did leave enough so you can get some responses.

There are several of us in the area - who have experienced some rudeness within the office - but normally it is a specific nurse - I'm not sure who you spoke to - but I would suggest that you bring this to his attention at the next appt. -

I honestly think that some of the office personnel see us as the whiners, troublesome patients etc. - Remember the entire practice is not about IC - just Dr. E specifically and while he understands how difficult it is on us - I'm not sure that the entire staff has the same understanding of how difficult this disease can be.

However, under Dr. E's care - I have improved tremendously - so I do not regret the move to see him at all - even if it means occassionally having to tolerate some rudeness - but if you feel it was out of line - PLEASE let HIM know.

That's really surprising to me. I see Dr. MacDiarmid at the Greensboro office and both he and his staff are extremely nice and very caring and understanding. I would definitely talk to Dr. Evans if you're having difficulty with a rude staff member. From what I've seen of the folks in that practice, they would definitely want to know. I'm sure that's not the kind of care they want to be known for providing.

Everyone I have met from receptionist, to CMA's, to RN's, to Dr Evans himself Excellent!! They are all kind caring people, you couldn't ask for nicer people, but this one lady!! I called the office manager 2 months ago when she made me cry, but she never returned my call!! And, I'm not calling her for pain meds, which if I did, that still doesn't give her a right to speak to me the way she has!! I live near Asheville, NC and finding a compound pharmacy was a challange. Then my pharmacy couldn't read one of his scripts and told me it was a vitamin and I had to call and get that straightened out!! Then, I was wanting to know when I was having a bad flare if i could do my instillations closer together!!
I was diagnosised in 2004, but never had the pain of IC until March of this year! So, honestly other then urgency IC is new to me!! And, I have alot of questions! Dr Evans office is so big and I'm use to my urologist I've seen for 27 yrs (started seeing him when I was 4, I'm 31 now) and the small office thing. I call his nurse up and she is just the nicest thing!! Maybe that's my problem. Dr Armstrongs nurse has spoiled me! But, before March we talked once maybe twice a year. We've gotten alot closer here lately.:bonk:
It's just all of this is so new to me and I feel when I call for help the person on the other end should at least pretend to care!! Maybe it's her personality and I'm taking it all wrong, I am a bit sensitive right now!! I don't know, but it's everytime I call!!
Thank you for your input, I was just wondering!!

Julie,

I am sorry you have had these issues. I, too, see Dr. Evans and have experienced the same issues you have described. I know SEVERAL others that have the same problem as well. Since you cannot speak freely on the board (rather, speak negatively about a specific person), feel free to PM me and I can go into more detail with you one-on-one.

Wow! Some other gals from NC!

I had a similar experience with my local Uro Assistant last week that ended with me in tears and going to another Uro in Concord.

I'm so sorry you had such a horrible experience - Dr. Evans is wonderful - but I'm hoping you are happier with the Uro you found in Concord.

There are actually quite a few of us from NC - so :hi:

I had a problem with a particular lady as well and did talk to the office manager, told them I would HOLD til she could talk, no I did not want to leave a voice mail, no I did not want to have her call me back, I would WAIT ON THE LINE! I was VERY angry. I can't remember what the problem was at the time but as far as HIS nurses and he himself all have been wonderful!! He took a long time with me and got me started on instills! That was a big thing for me that helped me out a lot.

Sorry you had to go through that. He needs to know about this because he wouldn't be happy one bit if he knew that someone that represented him acted so hateful.
