I have been taking sleeping pills for a while now, but now I think it is making things worse, I think I am having some problems with it. Is this possible? I am afraid not to get off of it now, but then afraid of not being able to sleep either, that is why I took those pills.
Just wonder if anyone else is having this problem, and what you did different to make things better.

Trishann,
I tried taking Ambien CR and it caused terrible anxiety, I thought this was not possible. But did some research and yup it can..What kind of problems is it causing you?

I am not sure what problems you are having, but if they are becoming less effective, you might try alternating sleep meds. That's what I have to do b/c when I am on the same one, it quits working after a while. So, now I take Ambien CR for a month or so, and then take Lunesta. (Though I have to put in a gel cap to swallow so I dont get the metallic taste in my mouth for the rest of the night and the entire next day!)
I hope that you find something that works for you! I know how bad it is not being able to fall asleep or stay asleep and how badly that can effect everything else!
Kind regards,
Amaranthe

I do the same thing Amaranthe does, but I go between Rozerom and Lunesta every couple of months or so. I am chronic insomnia on top of IC, so getting my sleep is a major priority so that I can handle my IC symptoms. I have tried every trick in the book. I am about to start reading a book my prior IC doctor suggested about insomnia just in case since she has chronic insomnia too and it seems to be helping her get out of the med game. When I find it, I will post the name of it again.

I take hydroxyzine at bedtime. It helps to calm me and the old bladder down so I can sleep. I do still wake up on and off but at least I do get some sleep. Will say in the beginning it made me really tired when I got up and it still does but that wears off after about 1 hour when I get up in the mornin.

I took this sleeping pill probably about a year now, and for this pass month I
have felt shakiness, drugged feeling constantly, hopelessness, irritable, and
just one time it was as if spiders are crawling on me. I always take the
sleeping pill at night along with a pain pill and never had this problem
and now this month have been torture with these things.
Last night I decided to try to get off of the sleeping pills, went to bed and could not sleep so I sat on the couch and prayed, “ Lord I don’t have it within me to fight, I don’t have the strength, the heaviness of it all is to heavy to lift it off and I am sinking deeper and deeper, I need that sacrifice lamb that was provided.
After praying for awhile, I went back to bed, and I feel asleep; I woke up very
early in the morning thinking I am not going to be able to fell back to sleep. I
roll over and did sleep for about another 3 hours. Unbelievable!
This sleeping pill was literally a life saver for me but now I think it has becoming a death sentence for me. I don’t understand this at all and wonder if after being off of it far a while will I start having problems sleeping again, and if I do, I am afraid to start it up again. I was on a low dose so I can’t cut back on it.
Well I am just grateful that I am doing better now. My husband was
concern about cold turkey this medicine, but I was concern not doing so.
I don’t think I can take this medicine every other day and be ok with it.
Sending hugs, Trish
