I saw a new uro/gyn and when he was doing the internal exam, I felt pressure and a little tenderness on the left side of my vaginal wall. I also almost flew off the table when he tapped on my bladder. Yikes!

What does the tenderness on my left side mean? I no longer have my ovaries or cervix - just my bladder and vagina.

It could mean that the left side of your pelvic floor muscles are tighter. I've got that problem with mine--the left is always more tense. I don't know why; the doc has suggested that it could be from scar tissue (surgeries, endo, cysts, etc.).

The PFT will help, though! I haven't had mine in a while b/c I can't afford to get to the office. I can really tell a difference, too. :(

For some reason - I had more pain on my left side - and still do - my pelvic floor was definately tighter on that side - I never really heard a reason -- but you are definately not alone.

After physical therapy it is better - but if I hit a flare - yep - that left side becomes angry all over again.

I have just recently been diagnosed with IC. I don't typically have a lot of pain and no one has even mentioned PFD to me, but when I do have a flare, I have always felt the burning moreso on my left side. Interesting.
