I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but I have a resource for acquiring Elmiron either free or at a discount. The parent company for Elmiron is Johnson and Johnson. They have an assistance program. If you go to the Ortho McNeil Pharmaceuticals website and look around you will find the program. The process is very easy. There is one paper for your doctor to fill out, one for you to fill out and then a copy of you last tax return. Mail that in and within a couple of weeks they will let you know if you qualify. The process was really simple and surprisingly fast. I was able to qualify for free Elmiron, which given the cost, is a huge load off of my shoulders.
Good Luck!

Hi,
I just re-applied. I had to appeal to get the PAP the first time and I'm hoping it will go through this time w/o having to wait 4 months and write letters like I did last year.
The problem with many PAPs is that the requirements are so stringent you have to almost be below the poverty line and MOST will not grant assistance if you have Rx coverage.
But, if you do get turned down initially, write and appeal. It took 4 months for my appeal letter to reach the appropriate person, but I did finally qualify. I applied 9.07. and received a call 1.07 that my app had been reviewed as well as the appeal. I did get the PAP, but have had to apply AGAIN even though I've only had the assistance 8 months - just because I originally applied in 9.07.
The cash price for Elmiron, per my pharmacist, for 180 capsules is $659.00 here in southern California. That's a 300 mg. X2 per day dose.
Do any of you know the cash prices in your areas of the country and if you don't, would you mind calling your pharmacy and checking?
Thanks,

In Central Florida it costs $278.00. I looked on the internet and you can get it from Canada for $159.

I was able to get a perscription but when I took it in today was told my insurance did not cover Elmiron and it would be $336.00 for 90 pills. I live in San Diego where price of living is already obscene, hopefully one of the sites provided can help..
