over-stretched bladder

many people say their bladders got over-stretched ? What happens when your bladder is over-stretched and how does it happen ?

Hydrodistention is sometimes called over-distention. When I have a hydro, my uro "over distends" my bladder.

If the bladder is stretched too far, there is a danger of tears in the bladder wall --- which is rare, but does happen.

Oh yes Donna, I unfortunately was one of those people who did have a tear in the bladder, evidently it is quite rare, I did not know that, until I changed to my present urologist, who is great, and he was surprised that had happened to me, it is so infrequent. Iris.:eek:

That sounds dangerous to have a tear in your your bladder,is it? Did that happen from having alot of Hydros?
