My Dr allows me to do home instills but only 3 times a week. I really think that they would help me with working if I could do them daily, at least work days. I notice that some people do this. Does anyone know why some say it is ok? I would like to discuss this with him and was looking for some info to back up my request.
Wishing everyone less pain!!

My doctor is a big protestor of Elmiron and hasn't really said much about other oiptions in relations to me. I have my more indepth appointment in a week. I have done independent research of my own and agree that I don't want to try it right now. Also, my symptoms are quite mild compared to others. No pelvic pain except an occasional cramp here and there...maybe an hour or two. Burning with and without urination is every other day or so... I think its really a matter of opinion and also the level of pain and such of the patient. I hope you get you're relief dear!

It can depend on what's in the solution. When I did heparin I started out twice a day, then went to once, then gradually decreased frequency of the instillations.

My instills are sodium bicarbonate, lidocaine, and heparin (Elmiron now until heparin is available for me). I can do instills as needed. That was daily for a while. Now I average 2 a week.
It deifinately depends on your cocktail ingredients.
