Our central air conditioning tore up today. :( I have been SO hot all day! You would think that night time would be preferable to the heat of the day and it is, except for one thing.....it is too hot to sleep! (UGH! SIGH! MOAN! WHINE!) Our poor forefathers! I dont know how they survived before a/c was invented! As for us, the kiddos and I have taken cool baths. I also wet down some towels and layed them across them and me. I didnt cook any today either so the stove wouldn't heat up the house. It makes you really appreciate things when you lose them!
Last week, we had to go without hot water for 4 days b/c the gauge broke on our gas tank and we didnt realize it, so we ran out of natural gas. The company couldnt get anymore out here for 2 days and when we called around, we found out that another company was ALOT cheaper and could saving us $458 on this fill-up alone! But, the catch was that THEY couldnt get to us for 4 days instead of the 2 we had to wait with ours. So, we bit the bullet and cancelled the old place and decided it was worth waiting 2 extra days for $458! But, believe me, it was rough! Fortunately the only thing we use gas for this time of year is our hot water heater. Since our dishwasher has a heater on it to get the water to the proper temp, the main thing was heating up water for baths and the sink dishes, which of course, sucked! I was SOOOOO happy to get hot water back! But, if I had the choice, I would rather give up the hot water than the A/C!
You never really think about the small blessings we take for granted every day until you lose them. I just hope that the A/C can be fixed tomorrow (and of course am praying that it wont cost a fortune!)
Sorry for complaining, but thanks for listening!
