Ladies
Does anyone have easy ideas for sandwiches for a guy who fequently packs a lunch for fishing, hunting etc. Leftover chicken gets old and for some reason I have a problem with beef roast. Tyson chicken patties work. Snack aren't a problem. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks

*I get the Safeway dinner roast turkey & have not had IC problems with that (And I'm sensitive to darn near everything)
.
*I also eat a lot of chicken sandwiches & try to mix it up a bit by putting different things in it (cooked red bell pepper, lettuce, shredded carrots, spinach, mushrooms, green bell pepper). Or I season the chicken with different seasonings: basil, oregano, thyme, garlic, sage.
*What about leftover pork chop? You could put a little leftover mashed sweet potato in the sandwich.
*I've used leftover beef potroast in sandwiches (doesn't have the preservatives or heavy garlic from commercial roast beef).
*Tuna with cream cheese as binder instead of mayo. Put some chopped celery in it.
Hope you get some other answers, I'm tired of chicken sandwiches too!

I know what you mean about Chicken and there's only so many things you can do with it. Altho I do like the chciken salad with either dried cranberries and walnuts, 9or the kind with walnuts and grapes. You could try ham, egg salad, I like pasta salad. And then switching up the bread by using bagels, tortillas, wraps, lavash, pita or any type of specialty/artisan bread can make it more interesting. :)

I like most meat sandwiches and lots of times add cream cheese and lettuce. They aren't as dry that way. Deli turkey is very good with cream cheese, lettuce and blueberry jam. Long ago I used to buy a wonderful deli sandwich that had cranberry sauce with turkey and cream cheese --- I decided to substitute blueberry and it's also good.

Have you tried using almond or casher butters (if your bladder can tolerate those nuts)? You can get the almond butter at Trader Joe's for half of the price that I have found anywhere else. ONly $4.99 for a regular jar. You could add this with safe jams (ie blueberry) or one of my guilty pleasures, marshmellow fluff.

Do you have microwave at work? My favorite sandwich is good cold or hot. I buy a good grade roast beef from the deli. Then I put butter in a pan and cook the roast beef in it. I just cook it until the butter is completely melted and the roast beef is hot, turn off the skillet and put cheese on top. I prefer provolone. I then take texas toast style bread and toast it and put a light coating of butter on the bread. Then take the beef from the skillet and put it on the toast. I have taken this to work many times. The only thing I do different is I don't butter the toast, it gets soggy if you do, and I put the cooked beef, with the juice from the pan and cheese, in a tupperware bowl instead of putting the sandwich together. Then at work I put the bowl in the microwave and warm it up.

One of my very favorite sandwiches is cold meat loaf. I am able to have some mayonnaise, so I use that.

You have a problem with just roast beef, or all beef? I like to grill extra steaks on the grill. The next day I slice the steak very thin for sandwiches. I like wraps too. I add spices, and/ or roasted veggies to some cream cheese, spread it on a flour shell, and then add the thin sliced steak and wrap it up.

How about fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, basil and olive oil in a wrap...Also if you can handle alittle mayo try turkey, american cheese ,salt and pepper on a wrap or hero roll with lettuce,or a grilled veggie wrap is really good with goat cheese if you like that kind of cheese....
