I have 2 large dogs, and I was buying a large bag of Purina at Wal-Mart and standing in line to check out.

The woman behind me asked if I had a dog?

Duh!!?

On impulse, I told her no and that I was starting The Purina Diet again. I also said I probably shouldn't do the diet, because I'd ended up in the hospital the last time I was on it. However, I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes everywhere and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet, and the way it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete, so I've d ecided to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story, particularly a tall guy who was standing behind her.

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me?

I told her no, I was sitting in the street licking my buns and a car hit me.

I thought the guy standing behind her was going to need help from being overcome with laughter.

Oh my goodness! That's hilarious. Thanks for sharing. Is this something that happened to you or is it a forward you got? Either way, I'm always impressed when people can come up with this stuff off the top of their heads. I can't even remember punchlines! :lmao:

It was an email I got. I am a smart Ash some days but probably would have not come up with that one. Ok, so I would have, but probably not been able to pull it off. It's hereditary. I got it from my father. LOL. Michelle.

That's awesome. I can't come up with stuff like that to save my life. Sometimes I think of something after the fact. A couple of weeks ago, a cashier at the grocery store gave me a hard time about using my own canvas bags. She said, "Are we going to play with bags?" When I sort of smiled, she asked, "Are you going to bag these yourself?" Later on, I had the great retort come to me: "Are you going to give me the employee discount?!" Of course, that didn't happen until an hour or two later. Oh, well. :rolleyes:
