I am thirty six years old. I have always had irregular periods. It took me almost two years to get pregnant with my first child. I only got my period a couple of times a year. So I went on fertility drugs and other drugs that helped me get my period. I went off the fertility drugs and and gave it to God. I soon got pregnant after I went off the fertility drugs. I had regular periods for about 6 months after my first was born and got pregnant very soon after. After my second child I went about four years again with very few periods. I have had a couple of consistent periods the last few months. I have been going back and forth about one more baby. I am thirty six and know it's time to make a decision. I feel like my regular periods are a sign. I know my uterus is sitting on my bladder. I am going to have to talk my gyno about that. I feel like I want to give it to God and see what happens. I am taking Desert Harvest Aloe Vera, Cysto Protek and Cysta Q. I don't know if they are all helping or just one. I do know that since taking them I feel a lot better. The drugs aren't FDA regulated so they can't really say if it's ok to take during pregnancy. I called the Cysto Protek drug company and emailed Desert Harvest. The Cysto Protek said it's ok during pregnancy. Desert Harvest said they can not say because they aren't FDA approved, but children take it. Has anyone taken these herbs during pregnancy or trying to get pregnant?

My suggestion is to take the containers with you to your doctor and ask the question there.

I know this is an old thread, but I wondered, what did you end up doing? I've been taking both too and they have really helped me. My husband and I are trying for a baby... I'm afraid to both keep taking them and also to stop taking them- for fear that I'll go back to square 1 symptom-wise and I'll have difficulty working.
I thought I read that Cystoprotek was not recommended during pregnancy, but I read the same thing about the aloe that you did- babies/young kids take it with no problems.
I would love to hear what you learned.

hi keydawn! i'm very interested in this old thread too. i think we're both in the same boat. i take cystoprotek and it really helps me! i'm surprised that the cystoprotek people said it was ok to take during pregnancy, because a while back i had googled the ingredients and i remember that quercetin was not safe at all. something about cell division. i'll do some more research and let you know what i find. if you learn anything could you let me know too? thanks. my dr also wants me to see a neo-something-or-other...i dr that specializes in high risk pregnancy's. while i have very "normal" pregnancies, he should be very knowledgeable in meds and there effect. when i go, i'll let you know what he says. keep in touch!! :)

I spoke with both companies this week (the makers of Cystoprotek and Desert Harvest aloe vera). It seems that Cystoprotek has not done any research on the possible effects of taking it during pregnancy and they encouraged me to talk with my doctor. The woman at Desert Harvest told me that their aloe is equivalent to eating "dehydrated carrots." She said when she was pregnant, she asked her doctor about the aloe and was told not to take it b/c of the anthraquinones. But Desert Harvest removes those so she decided to take it and had no problems.
I have stopped taking the Cystoprotek (at least until I know whether I'm pregnant at the end of this cycle) but I plan to continue the aloe. I've also discontinued my muscle relaxer (I am missing this badly). I'm wondering if there are any safe muscle relaxers?
Anyway, it's a relief for me to have made this decision. I'm still wary about returning to previous symptom levels- I've been so much better after taking the combo of those.
