:help: I've been doing so much reading in the past month because I was recently diagnosed. I also have IBS and Fibromyalgia and occular roseacia (sp??) anyway...I do alot of walking to help with my FM but I've read that any exercise that makes your body bounce can be harmful for the IC....anyone had this problem? or any suggestions for some good exercises
p.s. excuse any spelling mistakes, its been a painfull and foggy day

I do water aerobics but I know that hurts others. I don't like to walk because that give me pain. I also have a heart problem so it seems like walking gets my pulse rate to high fast. Do what is good for you. Exercise can help IC if nothing else it gets our thoughts on something else.

Walking makes my bladder so much worse. If I could live in water I would. Walking in water or even swimming laps at a casual pace is tolerated (and I love water therapy... I learned to swim before I could walk anyways!). Weight lifting can be tolerable as long as I don't do certain things like tricep push downs, tricep kick backs, leg presses, squats, crunches, etc. I used to lift weights (heavy weights for 2 hours, 3 days/week). I really miss my weights. I felt so good and I thought I looked so much healtheir lifting weights. Now... I can only water walk and I feel like I should be forced to get a walker before I resort to that. But many people do it now and there are water weights that you can use to add resistance. Plenty of people overcoming injury water walk, so I just say that I have a back injury when I get funny looks (I'm in my 20's, so they expect me to be off running a marathon... sigh... which I miss my running so much!). Ok... I'll stop now... I'm all depressed thinking about my past loves...
