Every time I bought pants in the past (after completely growing) they have always been 3-4 inches to long. Always………I decided to break down and buy some fat cloths. Not wanting to but I need something more then just two outfits to wear to doc’s. Went to Peter Harris and I got 3 pair of pants. One pair was $3 and the other were $4 a piece. Couldn’t beat that price. Two were different colors of blue and the other were yellow. Yeah, I was thinking too. Yellow pants for a fat person? Wouldn’t I look like a walking banana but I’m always buying black when I’m fat. My motto is “Wear black if you’re fat”. ha Well, I get home excited about all the purchases. Bought two shirts too. One shirt didn’t fit. Too big on top and the other shirt was perfect and BOTH were the same size! I wish companies would make clothing the same. Then to try on the pants. Now this is were the conspiracy part comes in. All three pairs were 3-4 inches to short!! All I could say was come on…..is this a joke….did they see me coming today……they weren’t Capri’s and they sure weren’t shorts so I guess they are a new style of caorts? I wore the yellows ones today while shopping. Had to do some shopping for someone else and tried another store to see if I could find some dresses. I really need to lose the weight now for sure. I swear there are no good dresses unless you are a size 14 or smaller. Anything else in a bigger size looks like burlap dresses and even back in the old days when they did use burlap those looked better. That was such a depressing shopping trip BUT it gave me the incentive to get back on the old diet and if I lose just 20 pounds I can fit back into most of my old dresses. Just who is designing cloths for women anyway??? Mr. Have tons of Burlap to use up so use it to make fat woman dresses? It was so bad I literally went over to check out the maternity cloths but those weren’t any better and then they only went up to size XL. I was looking around at the other women in the store and I wasn’t the only fat one and there were women fatter then me so what is it with all these smaller sizes? They have a department for fat women but it’s sooooooooo small and not much of anything to choose from. I’m still trying to find a bra that fits right. Found one that is preferred by one of the fat celebrities so will see how that goes. My goal is to lose at least 6 pounds by the end of September. Would like to lose more but have my doubts I could and if I drop it fast I won’t keep it off.

I almost always have to shorten pants --- and I'm 5'8" tall! I'd like to see the person who actually fits the legs of those pants! And if I go to the petite section, they are too short in the crotch.

The latest fashion, I am told, is that pants are suppose to go all the way to the floor and worn with heels. What bunk! Like we need to be in heels and maybe fall at that. I found leggings (mostly jean leggings) are shorter, they streach so are easier on the bladder. Worn with a nice blouse and pretty low heels we can look very nice without all the hassle. Stores cater to young women not a senior like myself. I just have to shop smarter. I do think that many stores realize now many of us are over-weight and offer some lovely cloths for heavier people like Fashion bug. I likewise must try on cloths before buying as the size can be so very different from one brand to another. Low budget? Shop consignment stores. I found some really wonderful cloths there. Good luck with your diet Mary. Remember to keep your health up. I'd rather be a healthier over-weight person then a sick thin one. All things in moderation. Great to hear from you. Hugs, Ziggy
I hate buying clothes, hate it. Even the same pair of pants from the same company the same size can be different. I feel your pain Mary!

Mary, They do have pants now that come to right above your ankle, Is this the way they were fitting? I have NO idea what they are called but am seeing people wearing them!! Almost like the style pants that were worn in the 50s with the white socks and flat bottom shoes!!

I am short and petite (only because I am short LOL), so I wear a bunch of capris, even my walking pants are jogging pant style capris. I also wear skirts alot, the can be any length and be in style. I also like the tapered leg jeans. Put on a loose fitting blouse and they are so confortable.
When I buy pants, if I can't find them in the petite section, I have to have them hemmed. I am thankful that I learned how to do that on my own! But there are plenty of capris that I have had to hem because they were just too long. I dread the day that carpris go out of style!

Ronda, yes! Those are the pants. They remind me of the high water ones and I can remember waaaaaaaaaaaay back when I went to school . if you wore those kind of pants kids made fun of you. I just don't like the styles anymore. Everything is either to the floor and beyond or it's up to your butt with everything showing. Geesh...
