Just thought I would add some humor for the rest of you. How many use the sunless tan. I look like a baby giraffe with a short neck. I used some sunless and thought it looked so good in the house and when I got outside in the bright sunlight, I looked spotted. What do all of you use. I am not going to lay in the sun. It is so much easier to get your tan from a bottle. LOL
You all know that tan fat looks better than white fat. LOL Anyone have suggestions.

I haven't learned the secret yet either. I even went to Macy's to but "the good stuff" and it ended up being not a good idea! LOL! I have had "some" success with the lotion that tans slowley. I can't remember the name of it, but I just put it on my legs and arms, but I haven't used it this year at all with my Eczema being so iffy. You have to be very careful about washing your hands off after applying it.

Hope you get some success stories!

Have you tried the sunless tanning at the tannig salon? I have never had it done but I have seen people that have and it looks really good! I think they spray you and you get a more even color. They also have the lotions now, I think jergens makes one and the more you use it the more tan you look but its not like the sunless ones where you can spot. I used to love the tanning beds then stopped going and I tried to go back this summer and I just felt sick when I got out of the bed. Its just to much, plus not good for me. But I have heard good things about the sunless tanning thing they do there. :)

My son used that when he got married. He had a great "golfer's tan" going on, so he didn't want that lovely look at the beach during his honeymoon.

Well do not feel bad I have looked spotted before also! I just decided to tan the natural way. But just do not stay in the sun to long!

oh dear...i'm sorry that happened to you! i've had the same thing happen! you can take half a lemon, dip it in salt, and scrub to help get some of the "patchy" away. good luck!

I use Jergens Express Tan. It works well for me. I use it on my legs only, because my arms get tan by just being outside. Just be sure you exfoliate first with a scrub and yes wash your hands afterwards. I have a small part Indian (Cherokee) heritage so I do have some color year around. Good Luck.

I will try the lemon juice and salt. Does it look good outside. I only walk from the house to the vehicle, so I don't get too much sun.LOL Rhonda, you never have to worry about me staying in the sun too long. I am totally addicted to the air conditioner, I also have enough wrinkles appearing like it is. I think I will just look at the sunless in bad lighting. Besides I need glasses and I am the only one that looks at my legs anyway. I usually wear pants when I am out in public. So, at this point, as long as I like it I think I will continue using some of the above suggestions and stay inside.:lmao:

Littlemyrn, I have indian in me too. My grandfather was 1/2 indian, I don't remember the tribe, but I guess the Pennsylvania Dutch and German took over my skin coloring. Both my sons and my mother tan like crazy, but I am the light one in the bunch.

But I have been getting a lot of compliments on my skin lately. So I attribute that to my paternal grandmother. She is in her 80s and has very few wrinkles and her skin is so soft plus the amount of water I drink everyday. I even got "carded" the other day when I bought a movie that was rated "R". My husband said that it was because the cashier was quite a bit older and he couldn't see well.

When I use to tan, I had got a couple of free sessions of the famous "mystic tan" man...big mistake. I looked like I dived into a huge pile of clay mud when I was finished...so uneven.

And now that I have the possibly of having Lupus, layin in the sun or tanning beds is outta the question.

I found this stuff at bath and body thats called " Instant radiance,gradual-tan body lotion" and i'd have to say it works pretty well. They have in like their signature scents like sweat pea etc.

Good luck with get some bronzing!:smile tee

My husband said that it was because the cashier was quite a bit older and he couldn't see well.

Well, geeze! Your hubby blew that chance didn't he? :lmao:

I bought Banana Boat sunless tanning cream this spring and it seemed to work out okay. I did read it's important to moisturize before application, especially places like your knees & elbows to prevent uneveness.

Then again,...maybe it was uneven. -I don't see all that well anymore!

when I was in beauty school I was trained in application of sunless tan. The absolute best stuff I used is made by Danne, it is a skin care company. the color in it is made by black walnut. So it is actually like you are staining your skin, like you would an end table. LOL. The best time to do it is after you have used a loofah sponge in a steamy shower. Stand in the steam for at least 10 minutes and exfoliate head to toe. I always wore gloves when applying, then to do my hands when I was done I would put a little bit on the back of my hands and rub the backs of them together. The only stores I know of that sell Danne are salons around here but you should be able to find the line online. I loved all of his products, and actually got to meet him when I got certified to sale his line. His masks are amazing as well.
