Hey out there,

I just wanted to pop in here because I NEVER had any bad neurological problems until I got the infection that caused my IC.

As my Interstitial Cystitis got worse, so did my nerve pains and they spread throughout my body.

Eventually I started getting 'tingling' through my arms and hands on top of the sharp, stabbing pain. I was diagnosed with post-herpatic neuralgia.

An EMG, Spinal Tap, and 3 Spinal MRI's showed nothing, so I went ahead with a second EMG yesterday (hands only) and it turns out I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Anybody else develop that one on top of all the other neurological stuff? I'm glad to have an explanation for the numbness, but I think all this was CAUSED BY THE SAME INFECTION.

I'd pay $100k for the name of the bug that did all this to me!

:)

Tara,

I'm glad they found out about the CT. I hear you on the million dolloar question..........I feel like a hypochondriac but I swear, I was pretty healthy since I got IC. Then my life fell apart. Some day I hope they come up with ONE TERM for what is wrong with all of us.

AddWell for what it's worth, I've gotten my bladder to tolerate Calcium / Magnesium supplements and they have really reduced the nerve pains over this past week or so. I think I MIGHT be on the mend.

I still flare from Fishoil Capsules, though! Even the enteric coated ones. Geez!

But for those of you who can tolerate the Omega-3 Fatty Acid supplements, my Infectious Disease doctor said to take those + the Calcium / Magnesium for nerve problems. And she recommends acupuncture.

OMG KARA I just read your complex case. You have officially blown my mind.
