The spouse has been attempting to teach our bird, Hillari-Elaine, how to sing Take Me Out To The Ball Game. Thought I'd share my talented cockatiel with y'all....hahahahaa...

I love your tape. We have a pair of cockatiels and their first chick hatched last night. I tried making the picture as an attachment but I don't think it worked out correctly. You might be able to click on the link below that says manage attachments to see it. I'm not that good with all this computer stuff!

hahaahhahaha..Thanks, all!
I certainly realize her 'singing' sounds absolutely nothing like the song, however, she must be given an A for effort!..ahahahahahaha..Funny thing, this is the only song she'll react to. It took us 2 days to get this little recording as every time I took out the camera she'd act shy and wouldnt so much as let out a tweet. :)

Elamar---how sweet you're going to have grandbirds! :)

Ronda---can you tell I'm a proud mom..hahahahaha..:)

Tracey---rest assured, just as soon as we can interest her in a new song I'll be thrilled as punch to post! :)

Court---her name is Hillari-Elaine. :)

My cockatiel Phil whistles a few tunes. Unfortunately we don't have a digital camcorder yet so I can't post anything. He hides his head down and says "where did I go?" and then throws it up and says "peek-a-boo". It's so cute. He also can say "I love you". When he gets nervous, he repeats peek-a-boo over and over again. He can do the wolf whistle! Then part of the Adams family theme. Learned a bit of "up on the housetop" at xmas time. Can do part of "zip a dee do da" and our latest song we've been working on is the theme from "smilin bob" commercials. Right now Phil has been so worked up over the baby he hasn't been talking at all. Just chirping. This Dad stuff is making him anxious and confused! But he is being a good daddy to the chick, feeding it and still sitting on the other eggs. We candled the other eggs today, and you could see a chick moving in one with a pip mark, so hopefully the next one should hatch very soon. The other two eggs have lots of veins showing and you can see a blob inside, but they probably need another week of incubating. I still can't believe the first chick hatched! Oh well, someday I'll get a better camcorder and we'll post Phil on utube! I'll try and post another picture when the other babies hatch. Have a good day. I'll have to work with Phil on "take me out to the ball game" because my son is a baseball fanatic. Phil was named after the Phillies baseball team!

Ronda---it was funny, when I was playing the video after uploading it, H-E would start whistling along with it..hahahaha..She's surely aware of that particular song! I have to say though, its gettin' on my nerves!..:lmao:

Elamar--I'd love to hear Phil sing and talk..hahaha..how cute!! I assume it just takes repetition to get these birds to mimic. Your bird sounds like quite the character!! Cant wait til you can get it on video!! :):)
Good luck with the hatchlings!! :):)

Just had to post - our second chick hatched tonight. It is already feeding from the parents. It's amazing the parents already seem to know what to do. Wish it was that easy when I was raising my kids!
