My gyn had me start the birth control called Nuva ring today . Since Ive inserted it ( its a flexible plastic tube inserted into the vagina and it stays in there for 3 weeks ) anyway , since I have inserted it about a half an hour ago , my pain has jumped up to level 8 . Has anyone have experience w this birth control ? Waht was your experience , if you dont mind sharing ? Im not sure if its the birth control or my pfd and the fact something was inserted in there? Since I started PT for my PFD , my pain from tampons and sex has improved , so I dont know why a little ring would cause me so much pain and spasms ? It feels like my bladder is clenching and my left sided pain thats always there has become sharper . This kind of stinks , because the ring takes the worry out of having to remember to take a pill every day :bonk: Plus the last pill they had me on ( Lybrel ) cause my breast to be sooo sore and it made me nauseous . I have been on several BC for 12 yrs now and none of them ever did that to me , so that was weird . Lol I see I got off track from my original question ! If anyone has an experience w this BC or advice , please chim in , Thanks !!

Yeah i have tried that one before....
it did make me nauseous but not as bad as the other combo hormone birth controls out there...
I did find it hurting me around there so it could be that causing you pain....
definitely talk to your doc about it...
there are different pills out there that might not cause you nausea...
for example, alesse, loestrin and demulen....all three of those have a lower ratio dosage of estrogen(that makes you nauseous) so you could try those or go for the progesterone only pill.....that was great for me....i still take it on and off since my cramping and bleeding get out of control if i don't take it...
i hope you find relief real soon :pray::pray:

Nuva ring caused me to have a constant vaginal infection of some sort!! I used that thing for about two weeks and I wasn't having sex this and I got a vaginal infection!! They tired every birthcontrol on me due to my endometreoisis and I couldn't take any of them bc of mood swings! Major mood swings!! So, she decided to try nuva ring bc it was inserted down there and maybe I wouldn't absorb all the hormone as by taking birthcontrol by mouth. Well, still Major mood swings and vaginal infection, and I wasn't having sex to blame any of the above on! I was still a virgin!! So, me and Nuva ring didn't get along! I find it odd anyway!

well, remember to keep in mind that everyone reacts differently, but i LOVE my nuvaring! i've had no side effects with it and it helped my ic symptoms a bit. it does sometimes hurt during sex so we just take it out until we're done :) but everyone is so different! you could talk to your doctor about taking it out early and maybe trying it again it a few days when your feeling better. good luck! i hope you are feeling better very soon!

As, I stated,"me and nuva ring didn't get along!" Meaning ME!!!! And, yes like many drugs people have different side effects and different reactions! I'm very glad Nuva Ring helped you, but it didn't help me at all! Just my experience!!

prestwood16, i'm sorry that my post seem to upset you....i was not posting in response to you at all! i'm sorry that you had such a hard time with the nuvaring, but i was just sharing my experience, which is what the first original post had asked.
