Well, it was interesting. It wasn't good. It wasn't as bad as
others had to do, but it was not good.

We had heat in the 90's all weekend and HUMID. It never rained,
which I guess is good.

We rented and hauled a 21 foot trailer with us. 2 beds, bathroom,
fridge and Air Condition!!!!! WOOHOO AC!!!

I hurt like a BUGGER all weekend. I was totally the anti-social Mom
since I spent the weekend inside the trailer basically. I would get
out of the trailer to watch my son bull ride and go back right
afterwards. I didn't see any of the others bull ride. Just the
mutton busters and the steer riders (my son's group).

Justin got bucked off on Friday night. He had a good ride, and he
looked like he just let go. Strange. Saturday night he held on and
WON!! He got himself a paycheck and is thrilled. He took 1st place and is now in 1st place for points. He is sore today and tired.

The trailer was a popular place for the bull riders. Not just the AC, but I brought enough snacks to feed them all. And I make sweet tea, so they were happy bull riders.

Friday night, Emilee went home to the Smith's house. Travis Smith is
a bull rider, but she went on the offer from his Mom, Shari. She and
Emilee spent Saturday in the pool sunbathing. I was worried, but I
also knew that Em would not risk another incident with me, so she was
on her best behavior.

Since Em was gone, that freed up some space for 17 year old Dakota
Mayberry to sleep in the trailer with Justin and Donald and I.
Justin thinks Dakota is the "stuff" so it was fun. We had "flashlight wars" for about an hour and then the boys jumped onto mine and Donald's bed, Ugh. Boys!! But then Donald had to go jump on their bad a few minutes later. BOYS!! It was coooooollllllddddd in that trailer with the AC going. Poor Dakota is so skinny that he had 2 quilts and a blanket to keep warm. THAT did NOT get any sympathy from the other bull riders that slept in the heat in a tent. LOL

Saturday Donald and I got up to go find a gas station so we could
refill the generator. It had run out of gas around 9:30 AM. We also found this fruit stand and bought some GREAT peaches. Yummmmm. So we get back, eat breakfast and the boys wanted to go swimming. Everyone got ready and went. It was only about 10 AM. I was not even ready to go swim. So I thought they'd be back soon after, like around noon, eat, and go back to swim again.

NOT.

As soon as Donald and the boys left, the AC blew a fuse and I didn't
know how to fix it. I'm sitting there, in the trailer with the
windows closed to keep in the cold and it's getting hotter and hotter
and hotter. So, around 1 I finally decided this was Stupid and put
the doggies out, opened up windows and proceeded to DIE in the heat.

To "keep my cool" I held a battery operated fan on me at all times,
put ice packs all over me, especially my face and head, and ate some
frozen strawberries we bought at the grocery store on the way up
there.

I was still getting madder and madder. The boys had been gone for
almost 5 hours !! I was Boiling mad and thought about the fever
blisters I've been fighting so I took a vallium and was quite a bit
more relaxed. My husband knows how MAD I am about it all. And I
even told him that he is lucky I took a vallium because I'd probably
be all over him.

We spent the rest of the day in the AC, once my hubby got it working
again. It turned out to be a fuse in the generator not the AC unit.
I did get out of the trailer and eat a hot dog off the grill with
some other campers. THen I went back in.

All of them all weekend kept asking the hubby and the kids if I was
OK. They just kept telling them that I am in a lot of pain. I
actually was, had missed my meds Friday morning. Completely screwed
up my weekend.

Saturday evening, we had another group of people in the trailer to
hang out in the AC. THose of us Mom's who couldn't take the heat
anymore all congregated in my trailer after each one's son rode. We
just listened to the radio adn drank water and tea and talked.

After the rodeo we once again had Dakota and Justin sleeping in the
bed. But, we also had Emilee back and her friend Maddie in the bed,
too. It was hilarious. It's basically a twin bed - the kitchen
table made a bed - and on one end was Dakota and Justin. THe other
end was Emilee and Maddie. Fighting for leg room, no one but Justin
got to lay down. Everyone had a blanket and slept, sort of. We knew
that Dakota and Maddie would be leaving but did not know what time.
So around 3 AM their Dad knocks on the trailer door and tells them to
load up. He had caught himself a couple of hours of sleep before he
had to drive.

We had a sort-of good time. The hubby and the kids had a great
time. I didn't hate it but I would never have called it fun. We
made it home around 12:30 this afternoon. We hurried and unloaded
the trailer and cleaned it out. No rest first, just rush rush rush.
Then we went to pick up my dog from the breeder that he stays with.
I missed him. We took 3 dogs with us, but he's so hairy that I
worried he'd be too hot.

Anyway, I am in great pain and am once again the mean mommy. I got a
couple of hours sleep this afternoon with my Bingo baby with me. He
is a great comfort when I am in pain. He justlays there while I pet
him and he thinks he's the most special dog in the world. (Ok, so he
is)

Sorry this took so long to tell about my weekend. Rambling.
Michelle.
