Hello! I am new to all this and would like some help. I am not sure if I have IC- I am trying to find a doctor in my area (Syracuse, NY) that knows something about IC and I am not having alot of luck. Any suggestions? I am willing to travel!

My symptoms are pressure(mostly after going to the bathroom). Some days I have very little pressure others it is very uncomfortable and constant.

I am trying to get preg. and stopped my pre-natal vitm. because of the Vit. C. I tried taking them again 4 nights ago and feel like my symptoms are getting worse. Has anyone ever had this problem and what do you do? My doctor stresses the importances of folic acid, etc. and really doesn't want me to stop. I guess I am just at a loss and would be open to any suggestions.
Thanks soooooo much!
Kerry

Dear Kerry;

when my ic started in 1996 - It was hard for me to take vitamins. I started taking childrens vitamins instead and took it with a full stomach and milk. That helped. Ask your doctor if you can take the childrens vit and a folic acid supplement?? maybe that might work I think some preg women may take 2 childrens vit. but you could always take them at different time so it's not so concentrated in your bladder. Oh and drink a lot of water!!! dilute that urine!!!

There is a doctors list to this sight to find a urologist inyour area. Call them and ask if they are familiar with IC before you go. Interview them!!

Hi cab
I cant help you with the Drs in your area as i am way down here in new Zealand. Any Urologist will have knowledge of IC and can put you on the right path for a diagnosis and help if appropriate.
I find that I cant take strong vitamins with my IC, especially B or C group. I took folic acid from about 6 weeks when I was pregnant and it was OK. Good luck and happy baby making!

Hi Cab!

I had the same problem with prenatal vits. Ask your doctor about other ways to get folic acid. You may need to take the vitamins separately. Lots of luck to you!
