HI!! I have just been diagnosed with IC along with endo at the beginning of this month. For about two years I was going to the doctors office on a monthly basis for UTI's. The doctors would never believe me how bad that these "UTI's" were actually hurting me. How could a UTI hurt someone that badly, right?:cussing: I know this sounds weird but I was actually "happy" when I was told I had IC. I was happy because I finally got an answer to what was going on with me and someone actually understood me and believed me about how bad I was feeling when I had a so called UTI. I started to be able to have this under control until a college kid deceided to pull out in front of me and caused me to wreck. After the wreck, I started feeling a flare up coming on, but because of the trama to my bladder and other sensitive organs in my lower abdomen, I experienced the worst pain which actually made me sick to my stomach. Since I couldn't get an appointment with my regular pelvic pain doc, I went to the ER and again dealt with docs that didn't understand, even though I informed them of my condition. They insisted on doing pelvic exams which just made everything worse. Then on my second time to the ER in the same day I conviced my ER doc to call my regular doc. My er doc then understood everything going on and did everything he could to help me. One good thing about going to the hospital was how much better I felt from all the IV fluids I received since I was vomiting. I joke with the nurses to just leave my heplock in and let me take some saline bags home with me.:lmao:

:welcome: to the ICN... :) Thank you for sharing your story. :)
It does feel good when someone finally believes what you are telling them is true. What a great idea you had to tell the ER to call your doctor. Validation, at last!!!
I hope you are feeling better. :)

Hey Khristina, I think you forgot to add that you have a wonderful WISE friend who actually suggested IC to you and got you in with her pelvic pain doc. That would be me!!!!Khristina is a wonderful girl, I actually sat in the ER with her until 5am the night of her wreck. I feel so bad she has this but feel she is fortunate in the fact she has a seasoned IC pro, LOL, to help and guide her. I wish I had known atleast 1 person with this when I was dx. I love ya babe{{{hugs******Heather

:welcome: I am sorry to hear about your accident. Thank you for sharing your story. I am glad that you got good care finally at the ER. I remember going and I told the doctor I had IC, he said oh ok. 2 seconds later he says, well do you also have a history of bladder pain and frequency? I said yes, I have IC, he said what exactly is that. So I explained it to him. But he listened and wanted to help. So thats always nice when they want to help. Since you have such a great friend, I am sure she filled you in on the diet. :) :) Its great that you have Heather to learn from and support eachother. :) I hope you start to feel better.

Hi.
Welcome to the group. I have to say that this group has been a life saver for me and there are soooo many wonderful people on the board. I am sorry you are dealing with all this with the IC though. I know what you mean when you feel good when someone finally says they understand what you are going through though.

Khris,
I tried calling you and it went to VM. I doubt we will be highlighting my hair again tonight. I have a ton to do to get ready for the beach. I will call you later if I can. If not I will when I get back. Remember, I will take you to your lap on Friday. I know your mom is going but if you need me I am here for ya. You have a great doc and I know he will take care of you, just as he has me. Give baby girl kisses for me. {she has a litter of kitties, one is a runt and fits in the palm of your hand and weighs less than 1 pound at 6 weeks old. She is a bed head and the cutest thing ever. If I didn't have 2 adult cats and a new kitty already I would take her in a heart beat.**
