Does anyone know or have themselves cervical cancer??
How did they diagnose it?? What were your symptoms?
I have been having a lot of cysts on my ovaries rupturing...(lots of fun!!)
They did some tests and now they found problems with the cervix.
I am so tired of all these tests and finding more problems...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sorry.....I am just frustrated, scared and wondered what in the world is happening to my poor body!!

I ditto Rhonda. I had cervical dysplasia. It progressed rapidly. I went from Cin 1 to Cin 3/4 in 5 months. I had to have a LEEP done, they removed the abnormal parts of my cervix. This was done after 2 cervical biopsies. None of the test came back cancerous but the next step after Cin 4 is cancer so they treated mine rather rapidly. After the LEEP I had to have paps every 4 months until I had 2 normal ones, then every 6 months, now back to every 12 months. I recently started seeing an OB/GYN who is my pain managment dr. I have had him do my paps. I got a certified letter thhe other day from my pcp. He was the one who treated my dysplasia. Their records showed I was due for another pap, I already had my new dr do it but never called his office to tell them. This letter said that even though my last pap was normal cervical dysplasia can lead to death and I need to do my follow up immediately. I called and told them my new dr did it but that just shows how serious it is. They were in major "cover our butt gear." I had to sign for the letter. To find out if you have any cancerous cells it only requires a routine pap. That is what the pap is for. When they insert the swab and then out it in the sterile container, that is what they are doing. Testing for abnormal cells. I think mine were called squamous or something of the sort at first. I can tell you one thing though, if you think a pap is painful the cervical biopsy and LEEP are pure HELL. I had bleeing complications with my LEEP and had to have the spectulum(SP) open inside me for well over an hour. They made an artificial scab that finally stopped the bleeding, if that didn't work they were taking me to the OR. My IC has never recovered to what it was prior to that. My uro said not to expect it to because the procedure was very traumatic on my bladder. He said it would have cause pain for a healthy bladder. He said he suggests a minimum of twilight sedation for any lengthy pelvic procedures for an IC patient, but my OB/GYN did not consult with him prior to the procedure. They did give me 10mg Valium to take before hand. I now take that before any pap/pelvic exam. I hope this was helful, in one way or another. I wouldn't start thinking cancer just b/c of rupturing cyst. The ovaries don't play a major part in cervical cancer. The most common cause of cervical cancer is HPV, human papillomavirus. It is the same virus that causes herpes, theough the strand that causes cervical cancer is different from the strand that causes herpes or genital warts. The new vaccine Gardasil is used to vaccinate against the strand of HPV that causes cervical cancer

Hey Mary , I just had a cervical biopsy today and YOUCH ! I have to wait 2 weeks for the results . I have had this done before and everything came back ok . They will do a pap on you which is a cotton swab around your cervix , if the pap comes back abnormal then they do the biopsy , which your not sedated or anything . They spray some kind of solution into your cervix , then they have a light that will show them what parts are abnormal , they take the biopsy from those parts in a clockwise rotation , then they put some mustard looking stuff inside your cervix to stop the bleeding . They took 2 biopsies form my cervix today , I bleed alot and was in a lot of pain , so I went home took a vicodin and laid around by the end of the day I felt better . I havent had to go to the next step yet , but I see HD has explained that to you . I also have a ton of ovarian cysts , but they are not usually associated w any cancer unless they are tumors . I understand you being so over everything that is going on with you !!! Try to stay calm until they do some tests and have better ans . Lots of things can cause abnormal pap smears , meds , your period , douches , yeast inf etc I know its all so hard to deal with when its one thing after another , but we are here for you every step of the way ((( hugs ))) if you have any questions feel free to pm me if you want . Take care sweetie  and (( BIG HUGS )) coming your way !

Thanks guys for the posts. I have had cysts forever with the endo and always dealt with them rupturing which isn't fun but I could deal with it.
They found complex masses on my ovaries though and my cervix. Cancer of the ovaries/breast/cervix is really high in my family.
I actually had my primary dr run the tests as I do not currently have a gyn in the state.
Thanks for your thoughts everyone.
I am dealing with the brain tumor FIRST then this!!!!

I had cervical cancer when I was 19 - they caught it early enough (detected via a PAP) and did cryro on me in a few stages. Following that, I had to go have a PAP and biopsies done every 3 months for the first year, if those were clean, then once every 6 months the 2nd year, then if those were clean, I could go to yearly PAP's after that.

I was lucky... I believe at that time, it was probably HPV that caused it. Now I got my daughter vaccinated against HPV - and hope that every woman that has a daughter gets them vaccinated as that is the number one cause in young women, but certainly not the only cause of cervical cancer.
