I had a Cysto/Hydro Monday at 4pm! I had to stay the night because I was late and my doc didn't want me going home with a cath and my pain not stabilized and he didn't want to do that to me!! Which he was right, I was in a lot of pain when I woke up!! I didn't think they were ever going to calm my bladder down!! I took well into the night before it started to calm!! But, they had the B&O Suppositories and lady's those are "magic bullets." They do take about 30-45 minutes to get into your systme but once they are in I was feeling good!! The dalutin (?) and Tordal would help but it wore off alot quicker then the B & O's ! And, then my doc wanted to send my home with a script for B&O's but he could't find anyone who had them, then I remembered someone on here telling me Target Pharmacies could get them. So, while I was stuck waiting to me Discharged I called them and YES they could get them. I was so happy, because I have never had that much relief!! THANK YOU TO WHOEVER MENTIONED TO B&O'S TO ME AND EVERYONE!! THEY ARE AWESOME!!! As my 10 yr old nephew would say totally awesome!! lol
But, back to my real reason for writting this NEW THREAD!! When I left the hospital yesterday I thought my upper body was just sore from the hopital bed and I new my throat was hurting due to being put to sleep!! Well, as the day progress and this morning when I got up to use the bathroom it was all I could be to move my upper body!! My upper body is hurting worse then my bladder at the present time!! The stiffness is from my belly button up!! I have had plenty a surgeries and this is a first for me! I didn't think they used gas to blow you up like in abdominal surgeries, but I could be wrong!! I just thought they went in with a light, looked around, then filled my bladder to capicitiy and stretched it alittle!! Am I wrong, do they use Carbon Dixocide when they do Cysto/Hydro bc then if you make since to me bc they I would think it was gas build up, but I haven't even had that when I have had surgeries where I know for a fact they blow you up with gas!!
I called the on call service, but told them to wait until 6:30 - 7am to page the doctor to see what is going to on! As, long as I don't move I'm fine!! Like typing right now isn't bothering me, because I'm not moving the rest of me!! Someone, anyone let me know if this has happened to you! I'm alittle scared and worried!!:help::confused::pray::bonk:

It sounds very much like you need to talk with your doctor. I've never had that kind of reaction to a hydro.
Warm hugs,

Please let us know what your doctor has to say about this. I hope you start feeling better quickly.
I hope you are feeling better. I know how bad those carbon dioxide bubbles hurt, and if you are feeling that much pain, even with the pain killers, my heart goes out to you. Please send an update to let us know how you are doing.

Thanks to all of you for your concern!! I have been in and out of it all day! He did call me at 7am this morning and found it odd that I was having all this stiffness! He said the Cystol/Hydro wouldn't have caused it, but maybe a reaction to one the medications they had given me. He said he was really confused about this!! He said if it didn't start easing up by the afternoon he wanted me to go to the ER!!
He then went on to ask me if I went home and went straight to bed and well no I didn't! I had to go by Target to get my B&o supp ordered (but to find out today they do not know when they will get them in) and my mom and I started looking at baby stuff that was 30% to 75% off for my nieces! I has just had a B&o before leaving the hospital so I was feeling good!! Then got some fastfood and she brought me home. Well, smart me decided to water all my flowers around me house!!:loco: At the time I felt great!! Like I said earlier alittle stiff but who isn't from hospital beds!!
But, after I told him what I had done when I got home, I got a small lecture from him! He said I told you to go home after the pharmacy and go to bed!! We've been together for awhile (27yrs) so he knows he can talk to me like a father would!! So, I have rested today! I have not done anything but rest, go to bathroom, gets something to eat or drink etc. I'm starting to loosen up!
Another question? I went in Monday weighing 10lbs less then I do now and I have barely been eating, just drinking! Is this fluid retention? I'm going, but not alot when I do go or not as many times as usual! I figure this is normal, but if someone will just tell me I'm right or wrong to help ease my mind! Or, tell me if I need to call my doctor again in the morning??
Thank you all for reading and giving your advice!! It's been almost 4 yrs since the last one and that is long enough for me at least to forget how it really felt and what all happened afterwards!!

Is your belly distended and really swollen and painful? Is it especially difficult and/or painful when you try to pee? Even if you are able to pee some, if you are taking in a lot of fluids and not much coming out the other end you may be retaining. That would definitely be something to talk to your doctor about.

Yes, my belly is distended! I look alittle pregnant:bonk:!! I have to go tomorrow to pick up a script, I will tell the nurse and let her see! And, then see what Dr Armstrong wants to do! 10lbs of fluid is alot! I hadn't weighed myself till this afternoon when the office was closed!! But, I knew I had to go by there tomorrow (or be taken over there, cant drive yet with the pain killers) so I figured I would mention it to them! I feel like a Whale!! I'm overweight anyway, I don't need added water weight!:bonk: Between this lovely illness and my Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome I had gained 95 lbs! I have lost 45lbs of it, so I get paranoid when I see 10 ilbs in two days!! I know its water weight but still most women have that mental thing where we freak out over our weight! Whether it is water or not!!:loco:

I worked for Jenny Craig a few years back and we did the before and after surgery water weight thing. It's all the fluid in the IV, it takes days to pass through to your kidneys. You stayed overnight so they probably gave you at least 3 or 4 bags. I don't know how much they weigh, but one of the nurses on the site probably does. I gained 10 lbs for a 30 minute procedure. As long as you keep drinking water and peeing it out you should be fine, it will take a couple of days though.
Side note. I wanted to go to the hospital gift shop after my last hydro (they have a really nice one) and I got the whole go home and go to bed. I felt great all morphined and percoceted. I was ready to shop!

Hi everyone,
Does anyone else here sleep at night for a few hours, say, 3-4 hours and spend the rest of the night up with bladder spasms? I am so tired everyday that I think I will not make it. I walk around work like a zombie. I take 2 tylenol pm and a xanax at night and get those few hours and then my bladder tells me the rest of the night that I need to pee every 15-20 minutes. Any advice?
I feel so bad for my boys and husband that I don't have enough energy each day to be a good mom and wife. I feel like laying on the couch and doing nothing when I get home from work. I never take a nap through the day, but I rest. My husband says maybe I am not tired enough to sleep any longer. However, I wish just for one day he could walk a mile in my shoes and he would see the hell I am going through each and every day and night.
Thanks,
leitchfieldmom

UUgh It's a wonder that between the hangover from those meds and the constant up and down to pee that you can do anything. Has your MD tried you on Detrol or Elmiron to reduce the night time trips . Really talk to yor dr you shouldn't have to figure this out alone. Good Thoughts --Jaisa

Thank you for your message!! That makes alot of since!! I freak out when my scales go up a half a lb. I have those weight watcher ones that tell everything! But, I did have a few bags of fluid and my body is slowly pushing it out!!
But, that's to funny that you and me both wanted to go shopping after being in the hospital! Heck they had us feeling like superwoman, that't the best time to shop!!! :loco: Plus, I had Mommy with me (i'm 31, I know I'm sad) and when I'm sick I can get her to get me what ever I want! Which we were at Target and I could have had movies, books etc, but I chose Toilet paper, tide, downey, downey sheets and stuff for my neices! Man, what was I thinking! Those pills really had me confused!! I really didn't get anything for me!! How sad is that? Mom, where are you? I need a surprise!! Just kidding!!
My dad had to go to Target to pick up my med's yesterday with my 2 nephews and I asked him if he got out of there with out any toys and his response was "NO, WHAT DO YOU THINK!!" He said they told him he was buying $3 to $4 toys but when they got up there to pay they were both $15 toys. He said both of my nephews (ones 10 and the other 5) promised all this work they would do for pappaw if they could have these toys! My dad said yeah right! My sisters husband left them for another woman, so my nephews have pappaw wrapped around their fingers, and pappaw loves every minutes of it! Even if he trys to deny it, you can tel in his face how much he loves those boys!! I'm just glad they have a positive male influence in their lives, because their dad sure isn't!! All, he cares about is himself! But, seeing pappaw (my dad) with them makes your heart melt. Although, I think he has them alittle to spoiled! All three of them have 4 wheelers! Even though he says his is my husbands! But, one day (which the oldest knows) they will realize who truly loved them the most between pappaw and there dad! And, that's pappaw!!
My pain med's are getting to me! I'm talking about stuff not even close to this thread!! Sorry, please understand I'm alittle loopie right now!!
