After much reading on this website and through the forums I started wondering if maybe I have pelvic floor problems and not so much IC problems. I began noticing that my painful flares happened not after eating so much but after activities.
I noticed this when I got flares after riding in my boyfriend's eclipse, but not in his dodge. The eclipse vibrates and it feels as if you are sitting on the wheels. The dodge has neither of these sensations and doesn't cause me flares at all. Sex hurts everytime unless I take a pain killer before hand. A vibrator causes a flare even if not insterted all the way. Sitting on a bench or hard chair can cause a flare.
If eaten in moderation, I can have pizza, soda, chocolate, apple juice, strawberries, and other not so friendly IC foods and without Preleif. This will not cause a flare unless I go overboard. However, I still use Preleif and try to stick to the IC friendly diet.
So what is the deal here? Is it IC causing pain or PFD? Is it both? I am wondering if physical therapy might be the better route than hydrodistention. Or should I get urodynamic testing? I don't want to rule out what condition it is by medication. That may mean taking unnecessarry medications. Isn't there a better way?
