Hi ,
I feel like I have a ton of questions ???
anyway wanted to know if anyone experiences stomach pain ? I have had it for a bout 4 months now ! It seems to get worse when I eat but never stops hurting completly ! It feels like punching or labor pains ! All of my doctors say it could be from the endo and IC ? I dont remember reading that anywhere ?? It's not my medicines cause I have only been on them a short time !
My pain med's make it feel alittle better but it never goes away completly ?

When you say "stomach" is it a digestive thing? Some people with IC do have generalized abdominal pain. If you feel it might be related to foods or drinks, keeping a food diary might be a good idea for you.

If your stomach hurts immediately after eating, you need to report that symptom to your doctor.

Donna is wise, as always, you should report it to your doctor. Be sure to describe the specific location and how eating affects the symptoms.
Since you have brought it to their attention and are not happy with their answer, you can talk to them about it further, or you can seek a second opinion to make sure something is not overlooked.
It's hard to discuss stomach pain and compare symptoms because abdomen pain can encompass a large area and come from many sources.
Thus said, a year ago I did have classic upper abdomen gall bladder type pain which got worse whenever I ate anything. An ultrasound revealed I indeed had gall bladder disease- which was resolved by removing the offending organ.
Good luck with your symptoms and getting answers. Hugs from Carla

Thank you for your opinion ! I did not say I did not like anyones answers ! I have gone for a second third and today was my fourth opinion and 3 hospitals ! My doctors want to blame any pain I have on IC . I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same symptoms ! So I might be able to ask or tell the doctor something I am not ! I am very aware of the difficulty in determining abdomen pain ! My insurance company told me today they will not cover another opinion from another doctor !
Thanks Kelly:)

Forgive me as perhaps I misunderstood your inquiry; it sounded as though you were rather frustrated about the abdominal pain and your medical care providers opinion it was only related to IC and endo.
The fact you have obtained four second opinions regarding the stomach pain reveals you are an effective advocate for yourself. I commend your perserverence.
I battled endo earlier in my life (18 years ago), and I seem to remember that endo pain was very intense for me- with the location focused in my lower abdomen. I experience IC pain now slightly lower than where my endo was at. I've had appendix pain in my life as well. The only time I had abdominal pain related to eating was with the gall bladder, reading your post reminded me of this.
Good luck and I wish your pain will subside. Regards, Carla

Hi, just a quick question. Have you consulted a gastroenterologist?

My insurance company requires a referal and right now my doctors are not giving me one ! If it continues I will go back to the ER . The insurance company was quit rude and said you have a choice you can listen to your doctors or go to the specialist and pay for it yourself ! My husband said if needed he will pay for the visit !! I am still on disability and I would feel guilty if I went now !
I will wait it out as long as I can and say my prayers ! I am going to make a few more calls tomorrow and see what I can come up with ! I am not giving up yet !

Kelly,
I had severe endometriosis before my hysterectomy(and before my IC diagnosis) and I had the exact same symptoms. I'm sure Ihad the IC back then too and they just didn't diagnose it. It felt like Freddy Kruger was in my pelvic area. I think going to a GI doc is a good idea too...especially with the pain right after eating..sounds like maybe your gallbladder. Hang in there and good luck with the insurance company. Call me this weekend and we'll talk.

I have always had stomach pain with my ic from up under my ribs down to the pelvic area.. that is actually only when my belly swells and I look pregnant... :( it last off and on 2 weeks out of the month, I have had about every test there is. As long as your doctor knows, and he is keeping an eye on you I wouldnt worry about it... I have been experiencing this for a year or so now.
