I woke up with a TERRIBLE UTI saturday, Peeing blood. Havent had one like that in a while, not to mention I ran out of my antibiotics. Called my uro right away and he called in a pescription for Cipro for me. I ususally take levaquin but he gave me cipro. It's been sooo long since i took it but anywho i've been really outa it for hte past 2 days. Dizzy, exausted, weak, cant focus... cloudy minded. I cant work like this, I had to ask to go home early today bc I'm afraid i'm going to fall asleep at my desk! I'm leaving here at 3 but until then its pure torture. iyiyiyiyi has anyone had these side effects... Been a while for me, but it seems to be working. the pain/ burning is gone.... just left with these nasty side effects.

I think it would be a good idea to call your doctor back.

I agree with Donna, call your Dr. back.

It probably is a good idea to call Dr. but just so you know I have had all those side effects from cipro, I took because it worked for the uti, I get them often. I didn't have too much success with others. Cipro makes me feel crapy, sometimes I take a 1/2 a gravol with it, it dosen't make me sick that ways but that does seem to help. The other thing it does to me is disrupts my sleep, I sleep but it is not a deep restful sleep, I think this is where most of the weird feelings come from. But I am very sensative to meds, of all kinds.

Demand what you need. Doctors are not great at doing what you need. You have to take charge. Heck, I'll call for you!!! :cussing:

Wow...I was on Cipro for a month and never had any side effects. I hope you got in touch with your doctor and feel better!

Hi-
I always take Levaquin also but one day after an instill my then uro gave me samples of cipro and said it was just like Levaquin. No way! I got SO nervous and dizzy that I had to stop taking it. Just the thought of Cipro makes me run! I am sure your doctor will switch you over. Good Luck! Ginnt

I get UTI's often, as a matter of fact I am just finishing a dose today. Fortunately for me I don't really have any reactions while taking Cipro, however, on occasion I will get the 'runs' a few days after taking it.
Don't know what I would do without my Cipro prescriptions, my family doctor, who fortunately understand IC as well as my URO doc, so she gives me a prescriptions with multiple refills. Of course, I am very careful to take only when needed.
I think you should contact your DR right away and never take Cipro again. I have had very bad experiences with antibiotics that do not agree with me...

Cipro only gives me one side effect, I can't sleep. Used it often for frequent UTI's but now it dosen't seem to work any more so now I take something else.
