Ok - I feel much better than I did a month ago. I don't have anymore pain. BUT - I still have burning. I don't want to overdo it on the baking soda.
I think my body is just an acidy body. Is there anything I can take that will help. I picked up a perscription for Nexium today, but it was $45.00 for 30 pills.
I use prelief (which helps a lot and Atarax). I don't want to Pyrelle everyday either. Is there a way I can stop the acid in the bladder?
Also - Elmiron may have been working but I started losing my hair! Yikes! I'm going bald.
I've been taking the DH Aloe Vera, but I don't know if it works or not.
This is crazy.

Sheila, sorry about your hairloss. I had major hairloss which my doctors are pretty certain started with my taking Elmiron. I have skin issues already since I have a tough time healing, so my hair folicles went dormant which was a hard thing to turn around.
I received a great suggestion on here from another poster that also experienced major hair loss and that was the Nioxin products. I could only find the "real" products in a hair salon and it was pricey, but I used very conservatively. The stuff at beauty supply stores were not nearly as effective. I was already on iron, which is very important since women tend to be enemic. I also took Fish Oil capsules, zinc as well as Flaxseed oil. All of this was talked about with both my dermatologist and my uro. After only a few months after starting the Flaxseed oil and being on the Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and leave on stuff, I finally started noticing hair growing in and staying! I had lost so much hair, I was wearing a wig, which really wasn't that bad during the winter months! Very few people even realized I was wearin a wig unless I told them. To this day since I still tend to lose hair (more than likely hormonal now) I still take flaxseed, fish oil and zinc every day. Oh yeah and make sure my iron is at a healthy level. I was almost transfusion level at one point.

I have posted about this herbal supplement all over the boards. I too suffer from burning bladder and urethra. You can get cantharis at whole foods market in a little tube. You put 5 pills under your tongue three times daily. It only cost around 6 bucks a tube. I was quite please with the results in the reduction of my burning. You should check with your doctor first to make sure it doesn't interfere with any other meds you may be taking. I guess I felt it was worth a try since it was so cheap! One tube lasts about 8 days which should give you an indication if it is helping or not. At least you won't be out of hundreds of dollars if it doesn't help. Good luck to you.

I have had very good luck with cantharsis too - for burning. I've eliminated my baking soda.
It is my understanding that one of the great things about homeopathic remedies is there are no side effects or interactions. I'll have to "google" that!!
