I have been doing my own installs at home for about 4 months now. I have read a couple of threads that talk about a Urojet. I don't see my urologist again until December and was wondering where to get this and if it required a prescription. My pharmacy makes me up a kit with all my supplies each week, but I don't know if I can ask them to add this or not. I also could use any advice on instills. I went through quite a few caths when I first started, but am getting better at the process. My Uro is about 3 hrs away so doing the installs myself was a must. Any support would greatly be appreciated.:grouphug:

The urojets do require a prescription and they are hard to find. You should have seen the first couple of things my pharmacist came up with. One of them looked almost dangerous. Like it would be something you would use on a horse! I did find them at Rite-Aid. They don't "fancy" ordering them too much. I don't think any pharmacy gets much for them. Walmart all out refuses to order them for me anymore. When I needed them for the late night burning sessions last year, they were great. The lidocaine only lasted a few minutes, but normally long enough to get my spasms a little settled.
If your doctor knows what they are he/she should be able to just write it out and sent it to you in the mail. Plan on waiting a few days for them to come in. If you have a Rite Aid in your area and they give you a hard time, send me a pm and I will give you the phone number of where I used to get mine filled. They are called Lidocaine Jetgels or just Urojets.
In regards to instills, I can't help you there since my urethra hates the caths. Since the urojets are just a syringe with a little bent tip, my urethra doesn't fuss, but anything else, I wouldn't be able to use those either.
