Elmiron and itching

I finally took my first dose of Elmiron. An hour or so later, I found myself itching here and there. I didn't have a rash or hives, Just itchy skin. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm concerned about taking another dose, I suppose this may have been an allergic reaction.

Have you contacted your physician? If not, I think it would be a good idea to do so.

I suggest asking your doctor as well. I didn't get itchy when I took Elmiron.

I'm currently on Elmiron 100mg x 3 daily and I have the itchies all over also. But I figured it was from the pain medication I'm on. I always take a Benadryl with my pain med to avoid that feeling. I know exactly what you're talking about.

Do you itch all over or just in one localized area? :confused:

I itched all over. I stopped the medicine, with the intent of trying it another day, to see if I start scratching again.

Have you notice a change in your itching, is it getting better, worse, the same?

Everytime I get a prescription filled I get a Patient Prescription Info paper with it. This is what it says:
Notify your doctor if you experience: rash, hair loss, unusual bleeding or bruising. Very unlikely but report to your doctor: vision problems, insomnia, persitent sore throat, yellowing of the eyes or skin, vomiting, fever, sun sensititvity, ITCHING, trouble breathing, chest pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

I hope this info helps & please call your doctor about it b/c it could be a sign of an allergic reaction.

i got terrible hives and crazy itchimg all over:rolleyes: but after i stoped they all went away!:confused: i just hope they will make a new capsule because i have to open them and put them in a drink every time i take them:( because of the terrible stomach pain

I went off of the Elmiron for over a week when I had my last cysto/hydro. When I started back taking the Elmiron, I started the "itching" all over. I thought it was just me and I was going crazy.:loco: I have taken Elimron for over 3 years. So I didn't relate it to that until I read your post. :confused:
