:( Hi all. I have written a few times and I think you all are a great support. Im feeling pretty lousy. I was diagnosed with IC a couple weeks ago. As of yet, the drs did not put me on any meds. I have an appt a week from today. Im in so much pain. I have 3 kids, I go ON cause I have no choice. I cannot stay in bed. I feel as if I have a heaviness inside my lower abdomen, but didnt have this FULL feeling this bad prior to the cyso/hydro I had. Im not sure if its something to call the dr about??? Help me here. Im not sure if its cause after MONTHS AND MONTHS of pain being told I actually wasnt crazy is making me more aware of the pain now and thats all OR if I am really feeling something more....this is all not fun as you all know. I THOUGHT maybe you could help me with this decision...call dr..or wait. Or even if you can tell me if anyone else has this or had this after that procedure was done...and what could it be??? Im feeling  again over this illness.
THANKS ALL...

You may be still feeling painful from your surgery, but I do think it would be a good idea to call your doctor. It's not unusual to pick up an infection after a bladder procedure and you don't want to just try to wait it out.
Also, some people can take several weeks to recover from a hydrodistention and that could be the biggest part of your pain.
Please let me know what you find out.
Sending warm healing thoughts,
Donna

I'm sorry to hear you're in so much pain, my heart goes out to you. Is there any way you can call your doctor's office and get in sooner? If the pain is unbearable, maybe you need to visit the emergency room?
Let us know how your appointment goes :grouphug:

I really think people here have given good advise and demonstrated the love and caring on this board. I can really understand how you feel. If this continues and it isn't related to an operation, or infection, a referral to a good pain center I think would help you.
Warmly,

I had my cysto in feb and am still dealing with added pain, I ended up with a uti and bladder infection I guess it's very common. Best of Luck! If your body says there's something wrong never hesitate to call your Doctor!
Hi, I think the gals post haved really given you some good advice, I would definitely call your doc, if you are feeling so bad. I know it took me a long while to recover from my cysto/hydro, but I did have other internal surgeries at the same time, so recovery was a bit lengthy for me. Please take care and keep us posted as to how you are doing, hugs Iris.:hi:

Christine: You know what??? It doesn't matter what the source of the pain is, you need relief NOW. Please don't belabor th what if's and maybe's, etc. etc. The bottom line is that you need help now. My urologist talks to me any time I call. She's incredible! And she's never blown me off or made slight of my IC symptoms. She believes me (what a concept) and takes action right away to give me relief. And then she calls and follows up to see how I'm doing (she calls, not a nurse or the receptionist). She's very serious about treating her IC patients. I feel very fortunate to have found her. Call your doctor now (please).
With blessings, Sesehta

IYF. I want to add that there is a federal "Pain Relief Act" that requires a physician to provide "treatment for the purpose of relieving intractable pain." It's also known as the "Pain Patients Bill of Rights." Hurray for our side!! They're mandated to believe us. :D So please get help. -- Sesheta

Dear Christine, :)
My heart goes out to you. You have found a wonderfull message board where we all can share our stories or anything else on our minds.
We all react differectly from the procedure, I took about 4-5 weeks to recover. I was in worst shape after and wondered what I had done to myself. Yet others actually have the procedure to feel better! weird huh? Hang in there, you will feel better. Is there anyone that can help you with the kids? You're not crazy and your pain has been validated. I felt the same way, If you can't talk to your family, friends about this perhaps a print-out from the computer would help.
It's important you tell your dr. just how your feeling and not let him just push you out, etc. My meds weren't perscribed until about 3 months later. I did have pain meds and valium from the beginning. Do you at least have those?
I'm keeping you in my prayers, please keep us posted,
