My doctor just prescribed the Dex for me. I took in the studies and while they are a little thin he still let me try it. I tried adderal for a long while so I hope this does more. As I read how hard it is for those that hurt so much to get this medicine I count my blessings all over again for having a kind and compassionate doctor that believes in me. I really hope this helps us all! Ginny

Malone,

I hope it works well for you! It is good to have a doctor that will try new things that might help. It has done wonders for me, but I know everyone is different. Please keep us updated on how you are doing.

I do hope it helps you. I have been following the threads here on Dex and anxious to see how it works out for all of you who are trying it. I saw my psychiatrist the other day and one of the pamphlets in the waiting room had info on adult ADHD and Dexedrine (is that the particular one that is supposed to help more w/ IC than the others such as Ritalin and Aderall?), but of course it had no information regardng IC. I chickened out on bringing it up w/ the dr, esp since I had no literature regarding Dex and IC on hand...I wonder what she would have said had I brought it up??
Best wishes...keep us posted on your progress!

Hi,
I've posted this all over the place, but after 3 weeks, I succeeded in getting an RX from a psychi.

Took 1/4 tab of 5 mg. since I had to teach this afternoon - thought the students might appreciate their teacher not being in an altered state. VBG

I noticed a mellow effect within 2 hours. IC, IBS and piriformis/psoas trigger points are down a couple of notches.

Tomorrow I will take probably 2.5 mg. in the morning. I have a free day, so if I sleep, so what.

I'm actually feeling ready to go to sleep and it's only 11:00PM here, which is not normal for me. I'm a night owl by nature.

I wonder what the connection is to the mellow feeling that some of us here are getting with Dex? Sort of makes you wonder if there is a nervous system defect in some IC/IBS/FM/CFS patients???

The psychi I saw is big into research viral connections in many diseases and a lot of what he had to say was over my head, but the friend who recommended him said it takes a while to understand it all.

Thanks, and I will keep everyone updated. I just wish I knew how samandmichelle are doing....
