Hi,
I've had PFD for over a year. DOes anyone else have trouble wearing pants? i had to wear skirts for about 6 mos, but as the cold weather came, i had to try to find pants that didn't upset me too much. how much luck as anyone had riding a bike? i ahven't tried that again yet either but was just wondering. I wear pants most of the time --- usually jeans. I do buy Lee jeans with the elastic on the sides at the waist and make sure they aren't tight. And in summer it's shorts or capris.

I very rarely wear skirts.

My pants have to be just right or forget it. I do not like any pressure on my lower abdomen. I like elastic or drawstring pants the best. Even elastic has to be loose. I have started sewing again and it is going to be so helpful to make my pants to the fit I want.

As far as bike riding I can do it most of the time. There are days I have taken off and came back home within 10 minutes because I couldn't do it on that particular day, but those days are rare.

I find bike riding to be much easier than walking. I have a seat made for a woman and it has suspension in it. I do tend to sit back on my hips. I can ride much easier than I can walk. Actually I sometimes don't even realize I have to "go" very bad until I get off the bike. Then I have to hit the bathroom (or the bushes) FAST!

Go for a ride. I think you'll enjoy it!

I wear lower rise jeans or pants. I do like a new jogging suit that I bought at Target. I wore it to the allergist's the other day to get my shot and then to SAM'S and got tons of compliments. The pants are stretchy and the jacket is curved but goes over my tummy bulge. I do have to have larger pants for flare days.

I wear loose pants now. Sometimes overalls....although with the ammount of bathroom trips I take ...that can get annoying.

Good luck figuring things out.

I am having a major flare up now so NO to pants. I can not stand anything tight, not even skirts. I can't even zip any pair of pants that I own. I have been mostly wearing those 'ugly' tent dresses (the ones with the empire waistline) I have them in all colors:p lol My stomach is so swollen I look about 8 months pregnant:eek: but at least they are comfortable. I work as a receptionist in a middle school so I have to look half way decent. I went for an instillation treatment one morning last week and wore my sweats back to work.........:D I just didn't care what anyone thought. The kids are beginning to think I only have 5-7 different dresses:o oh well!
Nope can not do any kind of exercising at the moment. Good luck if you try. And let us know if you find any 'fashionable' clothes maybe someone could make a new line just for us overweight IC patients:D

I wear loose pants just cause it feels better on my tummy. I don't do skirts. Live in my PJ pants, don't know what I'll do when I have to go back to work. Hard when I have to put on pants now :) I like the looks of "form fitting"ones on me, I just don't like how they feel...Owwwwwwwwwwieee. And I usually wind up one sad puppy by the time I'm done, so I've resorted to lose in the waist pants (relaxed fit, I believe) and slacks...and wear sweats to PT, or my PJ's. (I enjoy the looks I get as Iwander the halls in my "night owl" flannel PJ pants!

Bike riding is sore. I ride a recumbent bike in the gym, at PT. I haven't tried my own bike yet, and the PT has said absolutely not. (wierd though, she tells me to use my stationary bike) But my butt is sore when I'm done at home and Ido some Yoga to stretch and roll on a big PT ball that I bought. (I sit and gentelly bounce, then roll like my pelvic floor is the face of clock and rock from 6:00 -12:00 and 3:00-9:00. (OK..a little wierd, my Pt told me to do that in the car, but I did that once and got a very strange look from a trucker going past...:lmao:
