hi everyone...i am wondering if anyone else has this issue. lately i have been itchy all over my arms and scalp and legs, but no rash or anything...and my muscles in my neck and shoulders feel as if someone is sitting on my shoulders. and if someone taps me on the arm or if my fiance tries to tickle me it hurts, and i will feel this pain for a while (from where i was touched). i have never had this issue before and now my friends and family think i'm "being a baby", being "dramatic" when i say "ouch" if they touch me, i dont mean to say it, it just is a reflex. no one believes me, (about the pain from touching me.) i dont get it, i noticed all this started this weekend. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i havent switched meds or changed anything in my diet or life.

It sounds like you might have some allodynia going on... basically, what that means is that the nerves in various areas of your body might have become hypersensitized such that even the lightest touch could provoke discomfort and pain. This is a MUST phone call to your doc because, if you read my latest self help tip, it could also potentially be a side effect to a medication. Please call your doc ASAP and let them know what is going on.

Since you haven't made any changes, Have you been tested for fibro? I know that both Lyrica and Vicodin both made my skin itchy and very sensitive, but I wasn't on either of them long after that.
But I can say that I have never been comfortable about being tickled or hit on my behind (love tap). My skin has always been sensitive like that. Things like tapping me on the arm and stuff never did, but there are even times that my husband will squeeze my leg effectionately and it hurts. I have been tested for Fibro with negative results, but my family understands that my skin is sensitive.
Hope you get some answers.

i have never been tested for fibro mainly because i do not want to hear that i have SOMETHING ELSE wrong, but sometimes i think i do have that. vicodin has never made me itchy, but percocets did. the lyrica never caused that to happen either. i am gonna have to see my dr...

:confused:I agree with checking with your doctor. My pain medication makes me itchy, ecspecially my scalp. I work at a computer all day, so no one can touch my shoulders or neck without me feeling pain. I have PT exercises to help with that and when I do them I feel much better. Consider if you are doing something each day that might contribute to pain in those areas. I had something strange happen today. I was taking a hot bath to help with my aches and I was reading for a bit and when I finally put my hands in the hot water I had been sitting in for about 15 min they hurt. I had actual pain in both hands. I have never had that happen before. I hope you find the source soon and I bet your doctor can help. :smile tee

I work in an office, but i do not sit all day. Unfortunately my dr is on vacation until the 28th, so i cant see him until then. My sister who is a nurse thinks i should be tested for lupus, she thinks it may be a mild case. i think its prob. fibro...i guess we'll see. i know that pain meds have made me itchy, but not the vicodin. thanks for the responses.
