I was just wondering if there were any other IC patients out there who had used Clomid to try and get pg. I am on my first cycle of 100mg Clomid....actually did the Clomid Challenge test this cycle and failed (whole other issue)....but I got a peak on my fertility monitor on Sat. and Sun and we are going for it this cycle. I have had the worst pelvic pain starting yesterday (Sun) and today (Mon) and I am not sure if it is from the Clomid or if something else is going on in there. It truly feels a little muscular -- hurts when I go over speed bumps, cough, sneeze, pee, wipe, get up or sit down -- all kinda like PFD. I have PFD also, but it has been pretty much under control for the last couple of months (attribute to months of great PT), so I don't think it would come back that hard so suddenly. Confused.

I just don't know if I should call my dr or not...or for that matter which dr to call. Been calling them so much lately...I feel like I am bothering them. But, I am starting to get worried that maybe I have some pretty nasty cysts in there and that is causing the pain. The pain meds are not helping.

I just want to be pg...why does it have to be so hard?

I read that you mentioned you had some pelvic pain for like 2 days. Also read that you had a spike on your fertility monitor. Could it be that the pain was from ovulation?? I get bad ovulation pain...sometimes I want to just double over!! And it does hurt to move around as well. It can feel like a muscle pain or something, but for me it's not. Hey, you never know, maybe that pain was a good sign for you this month...keeping my finger's crossed for ya & lots of baby dust :)

P.S. If you do have cysts on an ovary...that can defo cause pain when you ovulate. I speak from a lot of experience when it comes to that  I know you said that your chance of getting pg on your own are low, but maybe this is a really good thing...stay positive my friend

I am in no way an expert on this topic, but a relative of mine was TTC, and going thru fertility treatments I believe with Clomid for at least a year (she is quite a bit older than you, so that was most likely causing her difficulties). I'm sure you've done extensive research, but I did a quick web search and found a study with Clomid that reported the following: pelvic and abdominal discomfort, distention, bloating was reported by 5.5% of the patients in the clinical study and ovarian enlargement in 13.6% of patients in the same study. The study included almost 500 women.
I don't know what symptoms ovarian enlargement could cause?? Possibly the pelvic discomfort is due to the med and not PFD...?
There are fairly non-invasive in-office procedures to make sure your fallopian tubes are clear of any scar tissue or other blockage,if you haven't had that done yet.
Best of luck to you!! :) My relative did have a beautiful healthy baby...it took some time, but just like those of us w/ IC, she kept on and kept on, didn't give up. Best wishes to you!:) Anyway, I may be completely off base here, but just wanted mainly to tell you to try not to get discouraged and don't give up! And bother your drs, any and all of them, to get the answers you need...that's their job and a very important one!

I was on clomid for two cycles and had no issues with pain at all (just emotional issues from it) that stuff makes me very emotional. I know I'll have to go on it again in the future as my pregnancy ended in miscarriage and someday we'll try agian. I just haven't wanted to try to get pregnant again and it's coming up on a year now since we used the clomid.

I did clomid for 5 failed cycles. It WILL give you all sorts of weird symptoms. YES cramps for sure (all through the month) and emotional tendencies, dizziness, nausea.. lots of fun stuff. It never affected my IC. GL hope you get your baby!
