Thank you for this site.

This is my second posting and I would have never went to my doctors this morning had I not listened and read your information here.

As I said in my first post had a cystoscopy done now 5 weeks ago. I could always feel my urethra after that (which I had never felt before) By Saturday I could not sit very well and by Sunday and this morning I'm on fire.

My female Doctor checked my urethra out and said I was red, swollen and had blisters. I did a urine sample and she is going to call me this afternoon.
I also have a fever. Could this be a uti, because I have never been positive before.

I have done alot of research on PTSD, Panic disorders, etc and IC over the weekend and printed out article after article for my doctors at the VA.

My doctor asked if this was mainly a womens disease, I said I thought so, but I could be wrong. She was angry and blown away that elmiron takes so long to help a person and thats the only medication there is to help me at this point in time. I know there is more but I am new and have alot to learn from this site.

My doctor found a magizine article with your website in it about 3 months ago and thats how she ended up sending me to a uro. And thats how I ended up lurking here.

Anyway my doctor has taken a huge interest in IC now. She said going to talk about my IC to a couple of different Depts today. She is going to research it herself.

I also told her that this disease is misdignosed all the time and I couldn't believe that I was the first female veteran at the Las vegas VA dignosed with this. And I also told her that your website says to educate you doctors. Thats just what I did today and she listened with an open heart.

I have a very tight relationship with my doctor as she has seen me through some tuff times. PTSD, Breast cancer, neck surgery and now IC all within the last 3 years. It's been pretty tuff on my emotions and hers too.

Now when I get the IC under control I should be in pretty good shape.

Thank you for listening and for the education.

Your such a kind group of people

Thank you for your post. It is always wonderful to hear that we have helped someone. :)

It is also always wonderful to hear that one of us has found a good and caring doctor, one who may not be up to date about what we suffer with daily, but who is willing to take the time to learn about this thing called IC. I am really very happy for you.

:) :) :) :) :)
