Hey out there,
I read online somewhere that when you take Elmiron orally, very little of it makes it into your bladder. I also read you can add it to your instill coctails to get it directly to where it's needed.
I started doing that in April. BUT, I use size 7 pediatric intermittent catheters for my instills, and couldn't get more than 1 Elmiron into them because it stops up the cath.
Then just two weeks ago I decided to add another 5cc's of liquid to my instills (Sodium Bicarb 8.4 percent) and I'm now able to get 2 emptied Elmirons into my instills.
I'm three instills in with the new recipe, and it's making a big difference! I noticed a little difference with the 1 Elmiron (started being able to eat small amounts of citric acid) and now with the 2 Elmirons I'm able to get away with blueberries, chocolate ice cream, and sugary sodas!
I flare so easily from diet mistakes, so I can attest to this REALLY REALLY making a HUGE difference for me. Everyone should try it :)
