Sometimes I will have a main symptom of exhaustion. I nap 3 times a day or so. I used to be able to walk further. Now, if I walk further than a small walk I have to go to bed and nap and recover. We are not talking miles either. Can any one relate to this? I was supposed to go on public transportation for about a 40 minute ride and a walk of 4 blocks on arrival. No way could I make it. There was a group of interesting people I wanted to meet. I told my partner to go alone and not feel limited by my limitations. I am though thankful that IC symptoms were less today than other days other than that. Once in awhile I may have a day or so of remission. IC remains completely unpredictable.:loco:

I can relate....i get so tired sometimes i need a nap or two....
i think its a combination of being anemic and also its the body that needs the rest not the mind so i think that when you have something like IC, your body needs the rest.....
but you should go to a doc to check out if there is anything else wrong....
i know for some caffeine is a big no-no but i find that if i have something with caffeine in it but make sure to have some water in between sips of it and that should help....
i find if i dilute things in the bladder like that it definitely helps....
but some can't do that....
for example, i cannot have any juice since it hurts my stomach and bladder so thats a big no-no for me.....
so maybe try some light coffee to keep you awake but make sure you have water to dilute it in the bladder....
and just remember you are not alone....
i hope you find something to help soon....:pray:
we all need that...

I have to agree that your extreme fatigue warrants a discussion with your primary care physician.

Warm healing thoughts,
Donna

Yes...Please see your doctor and talk about this. Hopefully s/he will be able to figure out what is going on and help you get back to feeling more normal. :)

Thanks everyone for answering my post of exhaustion. Yes, my primary doctor knows all about it and says it is from the IC. Urologists tell me the same thing. Recent exhaustion produced a flare that kept me awake sometimes causing more tiredness. But you know what? I have a lot of blessings in my life and at least IC symptoms aren't 24/7 . They are present enough to make a big impact on my life but at least I am now retired. And, I have a wonderful family and grandkids, too:):woohoo:

Hi Songbird, I get the exhaustion pain at times. I don't have "flares" anymore (knock on wood!!!), but I know when I push myself too much, I will be down and out for at least a day. My doctors have worked with me on some vitamins and supplements. Some things I saw a difference in, others not. Like meds, it's trial and error. I too am anemic, so I watch that big time. I work full-time, but I have learned to take naps at times. Instead of lunch today I went into a conf room that wasn't being used and took a nap. That's very common for my Mondays! Since I love my Sunday afternoon naps...

I hope you can manage to go. Sometimes when I push myself a little bit, I end up having a good time. I may end up running to my bed for a nap, but it satisfies me that I conquered something I didnt think I could do.

I am glad that your symptoms aren't 24/7, that is a blessing so that you can enjoy your family.
