View Full Version : Really bitty wee??

Hi, I know this one sounds strange but just hope we're all as familiar with our wee as I am :) Before I had a cystoscopy done I was asked by my urologist to measure all liquid that went into my body & to measure all liquid that then came out, so yes, I was peeing in a jug  Whilst doing this I began to notice alot of "bits" in my wee. I have to say that some bits worried me so much I did fish them out (I did wash my hands VERY well after this)! The bits were like mucus & I'm convinced that this is the lining of my bladder coming away  I live in England & specialists don't seem so eager to get you on Elmeron & I don't understand why????? I don't see my specialist again until the end of August! I feel like I'm wasting time & should be taking something that could potentially help my bladder lining to recover & in turn help me recover! I am aware that this also may not work for me but just wanted your thoughts on this????? Should I be pushing to get this medication :loco: I'm also aware that Elmeron is best taken in an early diagnoses as aposed to leaving it till the disease progresses??? Ahhhhhhh - please help if you can, I would love to hear your views.
Thanks for taking the time to read this :)

I have never been asked to measure my intake and out go. There are lots of times that I know I do not empty and at those times I go every 45 minutes or so and hardly anything somes out.
I know of 3 times that I was sent to the bathroom to go and was catherized afterwards and twice there was 100 cc and once 20cc.
I am very lucky because my hubbie did 30 years in the US NAVY and most of our meds are filled right at the military hospital for free. They don't carry Elmiron and it costs me $9 at a civillian drugstore. I understand Elmiron is a very expensive drug.Do the pharmacies there carry the drug? I don't know too much about your medical system there. Can you get a second opinion? My Urologist only treated me for Urge Incontinence and I was getting so many UTI's and in so much pain and discomfort I just referred myself to someone else. This Dr. is wonderful.

Little bits in the wee, I too have this often, I too thought this was the linning of bladder, some times there is lots, once I was straining my urine to look for kidney stones there was so much whitish stuff in it, it blocked the strainer. My Gp also thought it maybe linning of bladder, so he sent it off for testing, I am sorry I can't remember what the test said it was, but it was not the linning of bladder, it was something that was perfectly normal. If you are worried ask to have it tested, if it is bladder linning, then you know.

Hi,
I have this too. Some days it's completely clear, other days there are lots of tiny white flakey bits. When I had my bad UTI last year there were tons of them and I think it's white blood cells. Of course now there is no infection but they still show up a bit sometimes. Whenever I tried to go in and get them test they conveniently didn't show up on testing day. For me they don't seemed to be linked to bad days, they just show up and disappear sometimes.

I get that as well and have often wondered what that is ? I think there is no harm in asking your doctor to prescribe you Elmiron , so I would try at your appt in August . Is it possible for you to get a appt sooner ? I wish you luck w getting your meds and if you find out what that stuff is in your pee let us know :)

Hi everyone & thanks for replying to this thread :) It's always good to know that you're not on your own with things & I feel a little happier knowing I'm not the only one with "bitty" wee!!!! Mine also seems to come & go - I know when I'm having a period it goes???? How strange :loco: don't our bodies do silly things. The impression I get is that Elmeron can't be prescribed by a GP in England, only by a specialist. I know the drug is also expensive here! I thinks I'll just have to see what my specialist says in August (unless of course I can nag my way to an earlier appointment :evilsmile)! :evilsmile Has anyone tried glucosamine & condraceten (spelt wrong I'm sure lol)! I've read that this has a similar chemical make up to Elmeron???? I was taking these for a little while but then stopped as it's quite expensive & I didn't think it was doing anything. Then I read somewhere that, like the Elmeron, it can take a good 6 months before showing any benefits! I might have to give that a go again!
Thanks again for everyone's thoughts :) Hope everyones feeling well & on their jouney to recovery :flower::flower::flower:

If those bits are white and the texture of mucous, and look something like pus, it could be infection.
