Hi Kelly, I understand... it's frustrating, isn't it?

A group of our friends are going out for a St. Pat's day dinner complete with the green beer... we were invited, but I had to turn it down even though I think green beer is fun, even tho it is kind of dumb and corny :). I drank 3 sips of my hubby's beer one time a few months ago and had to use the bathroom 5 times in the Target store when we stopped there to pick a few things up after dinner... so it's an impossibility nowadays!

Plus, I had my DMSO today... I don't really feel up to being very social today (and I'm sure the stench would make me the least popular person at our table ;)

But HAPPY ST PADDY'S DAY TO ALL!!!

You know... corned beef has never bothered my bladder. Between that, the potatoes and cabbage... it's seems to be a pretty IC friendly meal. But, of course, we're all different. Perhaps you could try just a little bit?? I have to say that we boil our corned beef rather than baking it... and so much of the salt and stuff gets leeched out.

Slainte!

Jill :)

Thanks Jill,
I will give it a try ! We boil ours too ! I 'll give it a try and see how it goes ! I have been adding more food each day ! But my favorites (pasta, and sauce) have been a no no for me !:(
I dont believe all my diet issues are not from IC ! I have been having stomach problems also ! I am going to a specialist next week and I'll get more answers then !
Thanks again,
Kelly

bleeechk!!! Not to dis to the food o' the Irish but soggy cabbage and wet meat is nasty. (my father in law makes it every year) Thankfully, I pulled my IC card this year...He just muttered that he couldn't understand why Icouldn't eat anything.

I'm glad someone eats it or Lord knows what we'd do with that stuff.

(I think since my diabetes diet and my IC diet my tummy is just particular...I'm as picky as a two year old, nothing looks good anymore, and I'm starting to loose wieght again....)

enjoy your leftover mush.

I thought I posted a response to your question last night but I must've hit cancel or something....So..like how else do you fix St paddy's dinner? I always thought it was that mushy cabbage and corned beef stuff. And, hey, I live in the NW! We usually do something fun to our food like add braised hazelnuts or pine nuts or something....(twigs and branches my friends from the east say) so what do you do with your mush that is different.

we just eat it more often I guess and a lot of us actually look forward to it :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Especially when it depends on who makes it. Like someone I know...if her mom makes it....then everybody comes out of the wood work to have boiled dinner at her house. It's more of a typical thing to eat around here.....and it just took me by suprise that people only eat it on St. Patty's Day :D

My family enjoys it too:D
not sure why we dont have it more often ? Other than I just never think about it when I'm shopping . Just like the thanksgiving turkey I never think of it any other time . I need to make a shopping list before I go shopping but I can never remember to do the list either Lol

Bleck...."shudder" nasty slimy mess, why would you voluntary put some slimy textured stuff willingly into your mouth.......Ok...sounds bad but I'm talking about cabbage. it stinks too, as it's boilin' away. I like crunchy fresh cabbage, especially thrown into a salad, but not cooked as a main dish. Yuck.

But enjoy your slimy meal, whenever you choose to have it. Everyone has their odd things they like. I just don't think it's a meal for this norweigen.
(Uh...I don't eat ludefisk)
