Ok so now that I have one of these on my left ovary and they think I had one rupture in the past few days.
forgot to mention i went to TWO ER's yesterday. first one never saw me.
2nd one did a CT, thank god and said i had one on my left ovary. and that the 4 days i was dyin in pain prolly meant i had one that just ruptured. i guess it goes in ur abdomen? i dont know...
What do they do with the remaining one on my ovary?
What is the normal procedure. Do they just follow it or remove it?
Because if they just leave it, than ,oooh wow, I dont know If I can take it.
The pain is definitely a different kind of pain mixed along with my IC pain. so its not fun.
Tomorrow I go for a pelvic ultrasound to get a better look at this cyst.
Then I have to bring the results to my dr on friday, who doesnt know about all this yet.
So is a LAP something I should probably get? I was already in the midst of getting one to look for stuff. But now im not so sure they would do one or is this more of a reason to do one.
and I also wanna ask. does endo cause you to miss periods and get cysts.
just clarify I dont know if i have endo. my dr wanted to do a LAP to check for this. whic im sure will be mentioned friday.
the cysts and stuff is making me think theres more to this...but it could just be cysts? I dont know.
Grr. Im so frustarted and in more pain than ever.
Why can't I just be blessed with IC......ugh ugh. not really but ya know what i mean.:cussing:

I only know about cysts.... There are different kinds of ovarian cysts. Some go away on there own and some don't. Some have to be removed.
I have had several diffrent kinds of cysts. One burst and caused me a lot of pain. They did surgery because they thought I was having appendicitis. They opened me up and my appendix was fine, but a cyst had burst and I was bleeding internally. They removed the cyst, the ovary and the appendix for good measure. Then, when I had my hysterectomy theye found a cyst on my remaining ovary and this cyst gave me no pain. They removed the cyst and kept the ovary. Then, a few years later I had another cyst on my remaining ovary and they just monitered this one and it went away on it's own. Since I have gone into menopause I have not had one cyst. The doctor told me that this would happen.

Jamie , Ive had cysts for 9 years now . What they do depends on the size and type of cyst ... most cysts are called simple cysts (theres also complex and hemmoraggic cysts , but they might be the same thing ? I cant remember ??), they usually just monitor them to make sure that the cyst is dissolving . If the cyst is 2 big and doing damage already then they will remove it . If you getting a lap done and its still there they might just remove it while they are in there . I had to get a lap done to remove my cysts before because they werent going away on their own . They also use birth control to make them go away , although you can still get cysts on BC , I always do . I was in the ER last night and they found one on each ovary . As for your major pain the last few days , it could have def been a cyst bursting , the pain is horrible when this happens !! And it can make your IC flare something horrible when they burst ... at least it does w me . I dont think endo and cysts make you miss your period BUT I dont have endo so Im not 100%sure on that . Ive never missed my period from cysts , but anything is possible . As for if they go together ? I dont think so , becuase every female can have cysts , but not every woman has endo . There can be just cysts ... Im so sorry your going through this , I know it hurts something fierce !! I hope when your see your gyn , that they can figure out how they want to proceed w your lap and have ans to your questions .. I really hope you feel better !!!

Thanks for the replies.
I had my ultrasound done today. At first they tried to make me do just the regular pelvic one. This is where your require to drink 48ounces of water.
IC nightmare.
So I drank for huge bottles before I got there. The lady calls me back and tries to to do the ultrasound just on my belly. She says my bladder is not full enough, that I need to drink more.
So she sent me drink more...drink more. tries again.
she startes pressing hard on my bladder which OMG OMG. and is like that hurts. I'm just about in tears. and I said um I have IC.
5 minutes of pushing hard on my bladder. she decides to do the trans-vag one.
let me tell ya. id rather have that done than a regular one. UGH im hurtin. bleh.
I complaining. but i feel like i drank so much water i almost did my own hydro...
so now I wait for the results friday at my dr.
I also think this is why ive been missing periods. i read up on them. they can block the flow?
pain...needs to go away. ick
ill keep ya updated.

Cysts can make you skip a period. If it is large, or in a certain area then your ovary can not release the egg properly and can also mess up ovulation. I was found to have many cysts and endo and my dr said this is def. what was making me skip periods. Stress can cause a missed period too. I know you haven't been feeling well, aybe your body is so stressed from the pain you made yourself skip a period or two. I hope it is a simple cyst that dissolves on its own. I bet if it is still there during your lap they will remove it, just for good measure. If you or your dr suspect endo I highly recommend the lap. Then you know whats going on. BC pills help cysts and endo together. IC and Endo are known as the evil twins in the medical community. It is something like 78% of IC patients have endo as well. Feel better soon
