Apologize if this is in wrong location.......

Yesterday I saw my pain dr. for the 3rd time and because I'm still in so much pain even with the strong drugs and knocked out most of the time...... I'm having a ...

Sacral nerve block @ S1-5

Also have torn and bulging disc whcih he will also treatment same time. Dr. explained this type will innervate(sp? he wrote) the vaginal/bladder . they inject marcaine for pain which last about 24hrs. and the steroid kenolog could last 2-7-15 days. Normally schedule 3 at 1-2 week intervals. Said I would know pretty soon if helps and if so, even just a little then procede with other blocks. If it doesn't help at all there is no need to continue. I'm excited, not looking forward to procedure, surgery thing... but am saying my prayers I'll get some relief.

In all my research on the web, I never came across this procedure. Dr. said this is the best. Has anyone had, know anything about....good or bad... please let me know. OR do you know where I can locate info?

I've found info on pudendal nerve entrapment block, hypogastric plexus block but not above.

thanks for listening and always being there my friends,

julie......

Julie,
I am trying to figure this out and can't find what link you are talking about. It is possible it is one that got lost with the board change. Just let me know and I or someone else who might read it will try to help you.:grouphug:

It wasn't my PM. I wonder if it was one of those mix ups she was talking about that they had to disable the PM system for now. Maybe whoever sent it to you will resend it when it gets activated again. Sorry I can't help. No wonder I was confused. :) :)

just wanted to let anyone interested in this procedure...IT WORKED FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even helped my torn and bulging disc L-4&5 bc dr. did that too. had done 3 mos. ago. i had a series of 3, 2-3 wks. apart.

i'm not cured but am not confined to my home in agony 24 hrs. a day. i'm able to get out 2-4 hrs some days, (after that time i have sharp stabbing pains and am in agony) and am trying to build back my strenght and endurance. i was working out 4x a wk. before ic and was in shape, strong and feeling WONDERFUL. and have done nothing for 19 mos. pretty sad, depressing, but no more!

this pain dr. has done this procedure hundreds of times on ic patients and is wonderful. his name is edwin colon in tampa, fl.

if anyone wants more info let me know.

julie :toosh:

Hi..

I just had a S3 Nerve Block done today on both sides of my spine. It was a bit uncomfortable...I am very sore (sitting on ice pack as I type :) ). This was only a diagnostic one and I am to call the doc back tomorrow to see if the pain went away.

For me, my left side was numbed but my right side was as if nothing happened...

Hope this helps...feel free to Pm me...

Thanks
Stephanie
