Hi all,
I was wondering if I could get some opinions on something. I recently have been experiencing a lot of pelvic pain. I am 46 and have had IC for 3 years. This pain is different than I am used to having and when I went to my urogyno he suggested I have a lap done to see if anything else was going on. The surgeon did find early endometriosis but not sure if it would be causing my pain. I have been having bad, painful periods as well so he did a D & C. Anyway, when I went for my post-op yesterday he said I may have Adenomyosis as well and said if I continue having the pain, I should consider having my uterus removed. I'm so afraid that I'll have this done and still have pain. I am not sure if I could be in all this pain from my IC? I am not going to jump into anything and will take time to decide but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this done because of other diagnosis besides IC?

Thanks!

Hello FLGIRL :) I have been experiencing never-ending pelvic pain for it seems "ten-million years"!! LOL:lmao: I have had multiple surgeries to remove what I thought was causing the pain. The most recent surgery was a hysterectomy and I was doing great with "pain free" days (about a year and a half) But it came to a halt a few months ago, thats when I started to learn about IC, and now my urologist and his nurse are my "best friends"! !:) Now, I'm not saying that if you do have a hysterectomy it will not help, I just wanted to share my experience. Take care and Think Positive. Keep us updated on whatever you choose to do.:smile tee

Hi- I had a hyster. in 2000 for the same thing (Adenomyosis) it did help the pain as the pain that I had from the time I ended my period to the next it wa so severe that I sometimes pass out so with the surgery that went away. The only bad thing for me was that before I had my surgery I was in remission but within a few weeks it went that away and since then - well what can I say? My bladder pain after all these years is about the same/pelvic pain I really can't say that I have as much; sure I have pain but the difference is like day and night. But we are different, please talk to your doctor about this; my choice was easy - I was 40 years old, been in pain for a handful of years and doctors couldn't figure out what was causing this. I also knew that I wasn't going to have any more children as I had my tubes tied as well.
